2011 335 e92 vs e90
Are there any real differences between these cars? Inside and out? besides the fact that one has two doors and the other has 4. The only real difference i could spot was the rear lights are different. e90s look sooo much more aggressive than e92s to meand im not sure why!!
also, for those of you who own a coupe, how is it getting into the back seat for other people? do they complain a lot? is there enough room for an average sized adult? |

I think the e92 looks way better, but I might be a bit biased. And yes people complain about getting into the back seats but once there they always say how comfortable it is. In saying say I don't have too make people in the back seat, hardly used.
From what little I know, the e92 comes with more options from factory like sports steering and stuff like that, tho e90s have them as well but you just gotta look for the right one |

I have had several people sit in the back seat. tallest is about 5'10" and he said it was surprisingly spacious.
There are a lot of differences, but mostly cosmetics. On e92 you have the seat belt butler. Also there is a orange light glow on the insides of the e92 car when you turn on the headlights.

The whole front and rear ends are different. 2011 E92 was the LCI and they got the snazzy new LED angel eyes. E92 has an ambient light strip on the doors. All E92 has folding rear seats whereas it's an option on E90. All E92 has the sport steering wheel. All E92 come with sport suspension (except xi). E92 front fenders are plastic vs metal on E90. E92 is a 2+2 seater, E90 is a 5 seater. That's about all I can come up with.
I personally think 4 door cars are better proportioned vs the same model in 2 doors, but I'm biased and also in the minority. Both can look very aggressive when modded correctly.

Other than better looks not really if you get a e90 with sports package. I think the e92 is one of the best looking non exotic on the planet. Perhaps I'm bias lol. The back seat of the e92 has PLENTY of leg and head room. I don't get in the back thus I don't know or care how hard it is to get in back there.

but, something about the e92 is off to me, the door looks too long or bubbly and the e90(stock vs stock) looks a lot more aggressive imo. but the idea of owning a coupe is cooler and more sporty in my head. I dont have any kids or anything any i dont have any unusually large friends so i dont think the i will have a problem! have you seen any modded e92s on this forum? ive been looking around for a while and ive only found this e90 : http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687577 which is beautifully done. |

The only thing you can't get on the E90 are the LED angel eyes and ambient door light strip. Everything else will be the same if both cars have the same options and packages. Sport (or M-sport) package on the E90 will give you the sport steering wheel and sport suspension. Cold weather package will give you fold down rear seats on the E90 if you want them (also available as a stand alone option).

It's a bit of a contortion to get into the back seat of the coupe, but once you get in it's roomy and comfortable. The coupe doesn't have the option of the heated back seat. I'm not sure if the sedan does.

E92 it just looks better, way better than the e93 with the top up...there a lot of modded e92's on this forum in fact some of the most beautiful cars done. Check johnnylin1' s car or mashimarho. Honestly most modded are e92's you might have not been on the forum to notice.

I have friends that completely agree with me, and some that always like coupes over sedans. To each his own, this one comes down to what YOU like. You seem to like the E90 over the E92, so get the E90. As long as you get sport package, they will come with almost the same options. |

I can't speak for the n55 generation of vehicles but in the N54 years I think the coupe looks stunning with the right color.
I don't think I'm just being bias either, bmw really hit it out of the park with the E92 2007-2010. This is probably one of the few 2+2 coupes that fits an adult in the back, albeit it is a bit tough getting in and out of but who cares about that. How often you have people back there anyways? |

If you're not planning on having back seat passengers often, I'd say go with the coupe. I debated between the two for a long time and realized that's it's not often that I have a third or fourth person riding with me, so I went with the E92 and never regretted a second of that decision. The E92 is a completely different car than the E90. The coupe is it's own design and shares very little with the sedan. Park the two next to each other and you'll know what I mean. The roofline is much lower and the tailend is too. In my opinion, the E92 looks like a sports car; very squatty, sleek, and aggressive.

Go e92. You won't regret it.
95% of the time, it's just me in the car. When it's not just me, it's the wife and daughter with me. Kids have no problem getting into the back seats. I took my nine year old daughter on a test drive in an e90. After a couple roundabouts at 30+ mph, she told me she liked my e92 better because she felt "safer" in it, because she was more "wrapped up" in the back seat . She didn't take into account my car has xDrive, and the one we tested was RWD. I admit, I did break the rear end loose a little... I thought it was hilarious. She...not so much. But all in all, I'm very glad I got the coupe. If you are looking for an aggressive bullet shape, go coupe. The e90 sedan, looks more elegant, or maybe more "mature". The e92 coupe is my mid-life crisis.

As others have said, the standard equipment level of the coupe is higher than the sedan. All coupes come with sport suspension (unless deleted.) Interior trim is different (tilt-out door pockets, etc.)
FYI, *EVERY* body panel is different between the two, so there are "real differences". |
