Mastarron

Not a bad price at all, however it was a 450 discount as this dealer charged tax on a warranty product that was not justified. There is no sales tax on a warranty. Ask any other dealer, Ny, NJ, Pa, MD no tax. You did well and will appreciate having coverage,

I have a question, if I drive a BMW 325i 2006, does that mean I can't get any extended vehicle protection plan, since the longest is 7 years (which would have expired in 2013?)

Question Extented Warrenty - 48/55000 miles from bmw dealer.

Extented Warrenty - 48/44000 miles from bmw dealer.

I just bought 2011 328i Xdrive. And the finance manger recommended Platinum 48/44000 extended warranty for about $2700. My Car is currently in 35000k miles and I have another 18 months original warranty remaining.

So from my understanding the extended warranty will be effective after the original warranty expiry date?

In this case I can drive another 5 years or 60k miles without any issues.
Am I correct....?

You have 48 months from purchase of warranty or until 35+44=79,000 miles. This is a 3rd party warranty, not a BMW ESC.

Another happy customer

Another accolade for Jeff Steel at jeff.steel@passportauto.com.

I emailed him some time ago to receive a quote. Received a reply in about 24 hours. The price was very good, but I did reach out to three other dealers, including the one where I bought the car, and they all quoted me basically the MSRP or very close too it.

It will be worth your while to send a note to Jeff. His pricing, which he has asked not to display in public forums, is significantly cheaper than others.

I went with the 84/100 gold. Squeaked in before my 4 year factory end-date of 4/28/2014.

Another shout out to Jeff Steel at Passport. His quote was *considerably* less than the other quotes I could find. Highly recommended.

I got a quote from Jeff this weekend and I was in for a shock, not in a good way. I'll respect his wishes and not mention pricing but I so far called one dealer in my area and they quoted more a lower price. Going to my dealership in a few weeks for an oil change ill ask them and see what they quote me.

If your local dealer had a lower cost then their is obviously a misquote involved from one of them. My local dealer is never close.

Well I just got a quote from my local dealer that was only $50 over what Jeff offered so it looks like some dealers are being pretty competitive on this pricing.

One thing that has me pretty confused is the collection of sales tax. Per Washington State DoR retail sales tax should not be collected on extended warranty purchases that are made separate from the vehicle purchase. This does highlight an interesting point too. You should never purchase the extended warranty included in the price of the car as you will be charge sales tax on that warranty price (9.5% here in Washington State).

I received a quote from my SA for a Hendrick Autoguard vehicle service contract for $2771 which covers an additional 48month/40k miles. This is a product of BMW of Murrieta's parent company.

I also emailed jeff.steel@passportauto.com for a quote.

I am @ 40k miles and need to get some extended coverage.

More to come.

We just bought out our lease on 2011 335i with Nav and were able to get 60 additional months and 55K for $2150. This was at the Platinum level. Was this an OK deal?

BMW dealers can assist all states except California. To overcome that issue, be upfront and then offer to provide a non-California address for registration of the BMW ESC.

I have seen a few comments on 3rd party warranties and let it be known, only a factory warranty for any manufacturer provides "NEW" component parts.

If you ask your local BMW dealer for a price on factory extended coverage and a complete online stranger has a lower cost you should be upset with your dealer, not the stranger. If your dealer was only $50 more than someone we recommend, support your dealer, it's the right thing to do.

I have a 2011 328XI and I will be researching and purchasing before June of 14.

That was a quote from BMW Of San Diego which is a Penske dealership. They are like the Walmart of BMW dealers.

I'm curious what price I'll get from BMW of El Cajon.

BMW extended warranty AFTER CPO period?

My CPO warranty will expire in June, 2015. Does BMW offer any warranty that extends past the CPO period?

I just finished purchase an extended maintenance plan (additional 24months/50,000 miles) for $1700. So my car will be under maintenance plan for a total of 6 years/100,000. I'm driving about 20,000 Miles a year so I don't think it's a lost at my cost. I think i got a pretty good deal, what do you guys think?

wanted to circle back to the forum and thank everyone for the info in this thread... after talking with my local dealers i reached out to Jeff Steel at Passport BMW (jeff.steel@passportauto.com) and Jeff lived up to his well-deserved reputation (in other words, i am a happy camper and am guaranteed to be so for another 3 years or 100k miles, whichever comes first!)... kudos, Jeff, and thanks to the board.

I just sent him an email with a link to this thread (I'm also a happy customer from last year of Jeff Steel BTW), no bounced message yet.
