Whats wrong with my car?

2006 323i - 34,000 KM's.
As I was driving home today at a red light, my car decided to start shaking like crazy and then I lost engine power as if it stalled. This is imbarrasing as I was infront of 2 other bimmers lol.
Anyways I turn off the car in the middle of the road and restart it, first one failed. Second one was succesfull. The check engine light turned on and I pulled over the car was still shaking so I turned it off, and now the car would no start at all. Called road side ass. was told my rsa was expired and I had to pay for a tow to the dealer. Now carless and pissed. Is my HPFP dead?

-car shakes
-engine cuts out
-check engine light
ive had something similar to this happen before but it went away.

That could be misfire. Like a bad stumbling misfire My passat did some of not all of the things that you're experiencing. Other than that I really don't know.

Your valvetronic could be failing..

It could be many different things coils, maf sensor,cp sensor, fuel pump etc
you need to pull the codes to find out where to start.
good luck

+1 You need to pull the codes.

I doubt it's the maf....more like a coil pack or spark plug failure.

I had the same issues. Could be valvetronic related.

Does the 323 even have an hpfp?

Your oil pressure could be very low. A scan will tell you exactly what the problem is.
