biodiesel=vegetable oil? looked at doing it, but too frightened to do it.

A colleague uses it on his disco and jaggg and raves about how it’s costing 80p a litre and keeps egging me to try it.

Would be interested to hear if anybody has tried it or does it on a regular basis

I've got a few mates who use biofuel but in vehicles that are either used on their farms or just to pop to the shops. It's cheap and easy!

Not sure I'd want to put biofuel in a modern diesel, even a Toureg!

A mate of mine used it for a couple of years in his well maintained e46 320d, then when it around 100k lots of things started failing in the engine. Not sure if it was fuel or the age/mileage. I would personally never use it.

Iv used 99% veg oil and adding around a cap full of paraffin per litre of oil in a few older peugeots and its been fine. But be warned not all fuel pumps will like it. A mate thought he'd try it in his transit combi (the really small one) and killed it!

I think that combination would form a big glutinous glob in the bottom of your tank in this weather

You need a really old (mechanical) diesel to tolerate that kind of abuse.. Especially in winter where veg oil will freeze!

Processed Biodiesel uses additives like methanol etc.
