What other car can you mod...

My 335 xi w stage 2 cobb, fmic, catless ARs, inter cooler, performance exhaust is so much fun to drive..

I own it and want it to appreciate in time. Thinking about picking up something else to drive as to minimize added miles on the car. Just looking for ideas. Seems like the 335s are equivalent to the old supras in terms of gains/price/mod. Too easy to get a ton of power out of the turbos. Anyway, thought I'd see what other cars people would get into.

Nothing like Supras... At all, i any way shape or form other than the fact they are really heavy >=P

But then again I like 335is and hate Supras so maybe that is the reason behind it. As far as modding other cars here are lots. The 335i isn't even really main stream or on the tuners/modders radar since all of the upgrade paths are linear and the tuning is baby proof.

Its all about budget and what type of car you want. AWD, RWD, FWD.. FI or N/A, American or Imported, Turning or straight line, Performance or comfort etc etc. Maybe a little bit of all of it?

Its an impossible thing to answer but the Tuner King that achieves the most for the least is and always will be the Mitsubishi Evo. Performance, Gasmillage, Straight line and turning, community support, vendor support. Various upgrade paths etc etc. A lot easier to be unique.

hum...

imo. EVO and STI if your into that.

but C63 have alot of potential, they also have tunes that add 70-80 HP. Most amgs actually. E55/63 with intake pulley exhaust can run 11's.

B5 S4's can be very quick. You can also go into muscle cars. Thats where the fun starts. intake header exhaust tune can add a good 50 Hp. superchargers add alot of power. personally, id get an evo. full interior buschur powered evo 9 seconds all day

I think the amg's are good. Evo's and subaru's are great but I've come to enjoy having a full interior and a suspension that doesn't give me back pain. I've driven my e92 cross country 7 times and have loved it. Try doing that in an evo or sti...

Well said...Plus a statement is made modding a $52k car vs some 19 year wet dream Sti or Evo

E class AMGs would be a great combination of power and DD comfort, plus it's an adult car that wont' get you pulled over every other block. I have heard that the W211 E was extremely soft from a reliability standpoint, in the early-mid 2000s Merc really shit the bed on that front. I believe they've righted the ship though, a friend of mine has a W204 C63 and a W204 C350, both have been pretty much rock solid, though he puts very little mileage on 'em (20K in 4 years).

Not sure. Thing is... I look at well maintained classic bmws, and I want my car to be similar in 20-30 years down the road. I wouldn't mind picking up another car which holds promise to become a collectors item down the road. Doesn't have to be highly modifiable. Just want a car which will be unique down the line, as to preserve the 335, and one that I can enjoy without fear of destroying the bank.

My finance met me when I had my AMG, which was lightly modded for the reason stated above, and thought I lost my mind when I bought the 335 (because of all the modding). I told her the Mod Monster was just hiding because of the AMG.

You can mod just about anything. But turbo cars are funner. I'm going to be broke one day as I'm trying to mod 3 turbo vechicles at once, my 335xi still minimal mods, evo 8 466 awhp/418 awtrq, and a gmc syclone which I just picked up a built trans with 2800 stall, pte 6262 turbo, 3" dp ,and 60 lb injectors. I need to get help for my addiction to boost.

Well I had a 2004 STi that I bought new in 2004. I had that car for 7 years, had at least a total of 100 passes down the 1/4 mile track. The most reliable car I have ever owned. Never broke down and I beat the hell out of it. Of course I maintained it, I am anal about that stuff. The turbo saw boost of at least 22-25psi and the turbo was still doing fine when I sold it.

I sold it in order to get the BMW. I missed my STi so much and the 6 speed that I went on a search and found a 2005 STi, built motor, custom color, for about $4,000.00 under book. Drove the thing from Southern Cali to Seattle, put it on the boat to Alaska. It was in the mountains of Northern Cali and Oregeon that reminded me why I missed this car.

So BMW is the summer only car, my pride and joy.
Subaru is my winter and traveling car for Alaska. I will also mod it similar to the old STi, but with more power hence the built motor. Below are some pics of the old and new STi.

Old STi - Headlights were custom with a RX330 projector, custom made light shield, clear lens, retrofit completed by LightWerkz (one of the best in the business when it comes to retrofits) BMW will get the clear lens mod and similar paint with Umnitza rings.

I'd pickup a used 2008-2010 M5 before I mod a 5 series. Next car will be the NA V10 M5. Can find one with 35,000 miles for about $45,000. Nothing matches the sound of that beast.

Others include the EVO, S2000, Audis are popular, but expensive. My BMW exhaust with the down pipes, I could've bought 3 full TBE's for the STi lol. I enjoy modding cars that can have your own style. No ones E92 will look like mine and no ones STi will look like mine. I like to be unique and those cars allow that along with Audi, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Toyota, Mercedes, and Acura.
