Noob questions about LCI
So I hear all this talk about having a LCI car, or wanting a LCI car. I know that it changes the car up, but what does it exactly do? And does it do the same things to the coupe as it does to the sedan? I tried searching, just couldn't find it. Thanks for the help, zach

main difference, tail lights change, and front kidney grills become one piece like the coupe. LCI for coupes happened much later and didn't change that much visually.
LCI is just an aesthetics change and iDrive update. Most everything else is the same. |

^ That's not a question for anyone but yourself... Coupes will tend to be more expensive since the LCI didn't hit till 2010, and the sedans started in 2009. Also, what's your engine preference? It varies depending on the year.

The LCI cold weather package (ZCW) also comes with a heated steering wheel, which the pre-LCI didn't have.

Definitely worth it. Newer, updated, and somewhat different.
The LCI basically is a refreshed and updated version. In many cases, it is also different. For example, the e92 LCI is a bit longer.. the e90 LCI will have a different trunk. Looks good and many people go for the "LCI" look.

Agreed, definitely worth it. cleaner headlights and tailights, more detailed hood, no more kidney grill "mustache", more agressive looking stock. and i wider stance i believe?
mirrors were a bit of a downgrade though, and there are less aftermarket parts available

You need to get a 2009-2011 sedan to have an LCI model. A pre-LCI M-Sport front end will not fit the LCI model on the coupes. E90=Sedan E91=Wagon E92=Coupe E93=Vert 2006-2008 Pre-LCI E90/91 2009-2011 LCI E90/91 2007-2010 Pre-LCI E92/93 2011-2013 LCI E92/93 |

It's become recursive!
It is especially annoying when you're searching for something -- trying not to be that guy who asks something for the xxx time -- and your search results are full of threads telling the OP to go search. If you feel obliged to post, I'd say a good policy is to provide a link to a relevant thread while reminding the OP to search. |

Seriously dude, I too have tried searching for this, and a I posted in another thread this pretty much same question. It is legitimate. Everyone who answered his/or her question thank you for not flaming. I too tried searching and pretty much gave up and up popped the answer, nicely answered at that. Mark |

I'd avoid the 2010 models- they have a crappier stereo than other years. LCI not worth it when you loose the amp and speakers.

@e90post, im looking to get a 335i for sure, but i just want to find a better deal, and whichever i happen to find a better deal on, i will jump on either. I have heard that the n55 isnt as good, and that it is harder to hit 400 on it and isn't as fun as the N54. Thanks for all the help, zach

personally, I really like the pre-lci blackline headlights, much more aggressive imo. but the kidney grill mustache thing is a bit weird, but if you paint the grills black its not a bad look.
so basically, pre-lci just needs a touch of black and it'll look quite nice. |

But I do NOT understand why you do not use the term "Face-lift" instead...
"Life Cycle Impulse" Seriously... Last edited by M-dieseltouring; 04-13-2013 at 01:33 PM.. |
