Finishing touch-BMS Intake on FBO N55

Car: 2013 N55 e92xi 6-speed
Been FBO for a good while-last thing to do was an intake as I have the exhaust, tune, filter, fmic and played with e85, race gas, octane boosters.
Wanted to stay away from an open element intake because I love the exhaust note and wanted to keep everything cool.

Fall is coming along and with it being the last "restriction" I figured I'd give it a shot because running 14-17psi on the stocker must be holding some boost/power back. In the warner months I'll probably switch back to stock.

So, intrigued to try to see how much improvement along with the sound! Should be on sometime today hopefully, I'll report back if anyone is interested.

Thanks everybody, just wanted to share!

I love the BMS intake personally. It's easy to install and sounds great.

Funny you should post today evo.

I'm actually on the fence about removing and selling my BMS intake and dropping my stock airbox back in today, albeit with an HP Autowerk oiled foam filter, which I'm not sure is even better than the stock paper filter for airflow...someone talk me out of it

Beyond those wonderful spooling sounds, which quite frankly get old some days, any real advantages?

Just went for a drive with it installed, much quieter than I thought it was going to be. I hear a mild woosh letting off the throttle hard, and a faint whistle in the background now.

Again my car is pretty loud with the exhaust, I like the exhaust to overpower everything so it's ok so far.

With the Jb4 map 2 and 5, the car targeted higher boost levels right out of the gate, nice pleasant surprise-and this is at 70 degrees. When it reaches 50 and below, I feel the car will pull nice up top.

I grabbed one lightly used, definitely worth the try to me.

Wow- well I guess anything should add something more than the stock airbox would

I'd love to see some data logs with the BMS and take on your car.

I also thought the intake was quiet when I first installed it. It is loud now and I am not sure exactly what changed. Try doing the throttle reset. That seems to increase the sound:

1. Turn cars electronics on-push start button once or twice without turning the actual engine on.
2.Hold the gas pedal to the floor for 25 seconds
3. Most times you will hear the gearbox resetting itself and hear some "noise" coming from your car but not always noticable so dont worry if you dont
4 Now start your car and enjoy the gearbox reset to its factor settings and open for all new learning.

i took mine off, only reason i did though was cause i wanted the engine bay to look stock. so whenever i race mustangs, trans ams, camaros i can just pop the hood and say its stock hahaha i put a drop in K&N filter in and it seems to be working just fine. if i did lose any HP its not enough to feel noticable.

Ya and it's not like they can't hear how loud your exhaust is from the DP and smell the gas fumes
