Car feels pretty fast, but I've been tuneless for a couple months now. I'm going to try to dyno at Secret Services Auto. I'll do a couple with and without the tune.

They also have my stock/custom tune dyno before I threw on a FMIC, CAI, and DPs. Should be an interesting comparison.

Can't wait for the results.

Not sure, but alot of us lease our 335i (probably to a greater degree than the Subaru population) and the mods required for Stage 2 are out of the question. I know the guys on this board would prefer just a Stage 2 offering, but I suspect you know as well as me that this group represents a vocal, yet a minority of 335i owners.

Plus, looking at your GTR experience, the hp gain wouldn't be too far off a mid Stage 2 tune.

Cool! Their head tuner Chris is a personal friend and a great guy. We are hoping to get SSA on board as an early adopter when AccessTUNER Pro is available for purchase I'll shoot him a text and offer my assistance in case he has any questions.

As you know by now I am pretty anal when it comes to tunes and can find problems on mt based cars pretty quickly. You got my email if you need further testing/feedback.
This was also a sorry attempt at getting stage two maps quicker lol.

This is kind of disappointing. If we want to run Stage 2 we MUST have an upgraded FMIC and oil cooler? Assuming we don't have those two things, this tune is only good for Stage 1?

How is this disappointing? Do you honestly expect to keep getting more and more gains without protecting the engine from knock and overheating?

For safe power, the fmic should be the first mod.

Don't think of it as a limitation of the ECU but rather a limitation of the mechanical configuration of the engine. The engine can only handle so much airflow with the parts it has. So if you overrunn the intercooler, you can only run so much boost before you are just heating the intake air. Same thing for the turbocharger, it will only make so much power before it exceeds it's efficiency and you either have to pull back or increase the size of the turbo.

So while the turboback gives you the ability to make more power, the stock intercooler is a choke point, so it must also must be upgraded to support the increase in airflow and boost. Please let us know if you have any more questions or concerns!

Thanks. That clears it up. Guess upgraded FMIC is next on my list, or should I get an oil cooler first? Still probably going to get the tune first before all, though. I'll keep it at Stage 1 if anything for a while then up it to Stage 2 once I have the cooling in order.

Trying to decide between the Cobb and Procede. Why does the procede add 80hp, but the Cobb like 50 without bolt ons? I wont be upgrading hardware for a while until I'm out of warranty. Does the procede make more power without bolt ons, or there be new maps for the cobb?

Stock, there is only so much power these cars can generate before you start overstress components. Almost all the major tuners get the most out of these stock cars and are usually within 5%-10% of each other depending on individual car and conditions.

Also, note that the majority of the dyno's results on this forum are based on higher reading dynojets where most of cobbs dyno's are lower reading mustang dynos. It can be mis-leading.

However, cobbs still improving maps and releasing maps, but procedes autotune elminates the need to every worry about maps.

There are a lot more variables than just power when considering a tune, I would spend 4-6 months reading these forums then pick.

beta?

At what point does a "beta" version become the "final, for-official-sale" version? After a certain number of successful applications or flashes?

Cobb is a stage 1 tune, the Procede is more aggressive

I'm wondering the same thing. I hope it's doesnt become one of those perpetual beta versions.

I want the most power without any other mods. Also, why is the Cobb $900? Seems like alot.

Most likely because there are many 2007 ROM's still un-accounted for, they need to be found and added.....
