Hey everyone!

New member here! I just bought my first BMW: 2009 328i xDrive Coupe. My GF named her "Squash" after the air conditioner she bought me lol.

I'll post some photos when the weather gets better, so that means next May haha!

I'm looking forward to posting questions/comments but in the meantime, I'll just start browsing for info.

One thing I'd like to comment on ... I come from Japanese brands (Acura/Lexus) and VW but I really must say that BMWs are definitely a drivers car!! Steering requires some muscle!

Welcome! Haha, yes steering is harder but once you get used to it, everything else feels weird!

So after asking around and doing some researching, I've decided on Nixon Automotive to be my go-to shop for maintenance and service.

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? I have an oil service appt with them tomorrow and I asked them to have a look at my car and comment on what sort of maintenance work I need to be aware of coming up.

Thanks ... yeah I think you're right. After the oil service they gave me a list of recommended service items and my jaw nearly fell.

I think I'll shop around a bit more

Can anyone recommend me a good muffler/exhaust shop to get my BMW PE installed? Preferably in Richmond but willing to drive out to Van/Burnaby.

So far, I hear that Muffler Man in Burnaby is pretty decent. Does anyone have any experiences with them?

I installed my PE exhaust in my garage, but got my quad tips welded at muffler man! They don't take appointments so it's a first come first serve kind of thing.

The guys that worked on my car did quick work and their rates were very reasonable. I was rather picky with my tips, and they were very accommodating. The cut for the PE is very simple and uses clamps, so I don't think it would take more than 15 minutes (make sure you tell them that there are dimples on the stock exhaust which are markers for where to cut the PE).

Avoid Hoeglers by No.3 road at all costs! Good luck! You'll be really happy with your exhaust!

Thanks for the info! And yes, I have heard some bad things about Hoeglers as well, haha

Hi All,

New here... 2007 328i 'Sparkling Graphite Metallic'

Lots of good info on this site, trying to soak it all in.

I see it's been asked before but - I'm looking at doing some coding, wondering if anyone in the Vancouver area offers this service?

Another Newbie

Hey All,

First post here, just wondering if anybody has any suggestions on a good service guy on Van Island? I know the thread is listed as Vancouver but I didn't see anything related to the Island. We do have BMW's here too hahaha. Ok not many.

Bought the GF a 2011 328i Xdrive for her birthday and we are a good 90 minutes from a dealer, not that a dealer is my first choice. So curious if anyone knows anyone up in the Comox Valley area? I know it's a long shot, but you never know unless you ask.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all Vancouver BMW-fanatics ... again. I've been absent for a while. Mostly because I have been getting into autocross and I'd just say for anybody that really wants to get to learn their car's limits in a relatively safe environment this is the ideal setting. I went last September because it was suggested to me by a friend and I'm completely addicted. If you have any questions feel free to message me. During the winter the events are hosted by the UBC Sports Car Club. The community is excellent and BMW is by far the most represented "Premium" marque out there, which is awesome.

Alright I hope everybody is doing well!
Can't wait for our spring cruise

**RANDOM:

Owner of the black e92 that parks on underground parkade on west hastings (coal harbour hotel), pulls in roughly around 8:40am on weekdays. I'm very curious to know what your exhaust setup is as it pops and gargles nicely.

Well, gonick just posted on another local forum that he works downtown, so I'm gonna assume that's him you're talking about.

He has the Bastuck exhaust. I think he might have a catless dp as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

That's me! Its funny and totally random how you know exactly what time I arrive for work every day.

Bastuck exhaust as xXSupa mentioned. No DPs, just a secondary cat delete and JB4 on map 5. It pops and crackles anytime I lift off the throttle, which happens often when entering a twisty parkade at low speeds.

You work in the area? Stop me next time to say hi.
