Okay, to get it out of the way, I'm 28. Now, OP, a few things. I don't care how or why you got your car or that you're 17. I get it. You're young, you have a pretty cool car and you want to have fun. Go have fun! As long as you don't hurt yourself or anyone else who cares. Couple warnings though.

First. The daddy-bought-it nazis are all over these forums, so just be ready for it.

Second, you just got the car about a month ago and you've only been driving for a year or so. Going 110 in your first three weeks probably isn't a good idea. You're not used to the car, and you really aren't that used to driving. Posting it on here, combined with the fact you're 17, it's BSM with terra interior and that you live in the LAX/South Bay area (looking for mechanic) definitely isn't such a great idea.

Lastly, who the hell took you 145 on the 405?!?!?!? That's about as intelligent as a dead fish. That 405 is the bumpiest, most uneven lame-ass excuse for an insterstate LA has. Very dangerous.

That's it. Enjoy!

Edit: One last thing. If you wanna keep that 4.05 gpa, you better get your butt of e90post at midnight and hit the books or the bed!

Stop being envious of what he has just because he didn't work for it. That doesn't make him spoiled, that makes you a hypocrite cause you'd take the car too if you were offered it. I think you should learn to earn what you have instead of having it handed to you, but who's to say he didn't earn it himself? Regardless, stop hating. I'm 18 and I bought my car myself.. that doesn't mean I should be jealous of someone who was given one at a younger age.

23 in two months.

Just graduated from Wake Forest University a year ago and financing my dad's prior lease, 2009 328 Convertible. The payments are as much as an M3 (what I really want) but my family and I decided it's best to keep my dad's car for the time being.

Working now to pay for the car and save for med school. When that happens either this fall or next, my parents are going to help and likely cover most remaining payments while I'm in school. So essentially it is a graduation gift that I'll pay half for.

Hopeful to get into an M3 after med school.

Welcome OP

Yeah, but I had find a more "professional" name for it. Lol.

Yeah I always have loved cars, every sense I was a kid I was helping my dad work on cars. It just something I have always been into.

Lol I see you've done your research... I'm curious as to what you mean with the part about posting what I'm driving. Are you saying people on the forum are gonna come track me down or something? How is that a bad idea? I've actually been driving for much longer than I've had my license, but I guess that's beside the point. I must say though that its nice to see someone have something constructive to say. I appreciate it
Edit: also the late night forum stint was basically to keep me awake while writing an essay, otherwise there's not a chance in hell I would've made it haha

A 4.05 weighted GPA is terrible.... Don't see why your parents would reward you for that.

I'm 18. I'm extremely lucky that my dad bought me this car and having such a nice car at this age makes me work harder so that one day soon (hopefully before I get out of college or soon afterwards) I will be able to afford to buy such an expensive car by my own means. A 335i is an amazing car but it'd kinda suck if it was the nicest car I ever own esp since I didn't even buy it myself Obviously there is no great way to rationalize owning such a car at this age but I'm sure some of you will understand what I mean haha.

For all you older guys complaining theres a lot more young guys on here than you would think. I know of quite a few and the most interesting part is a lot of them are some of the major contributors to the forum and the most helpful.

I've posted this before only when asked but I guess i'll post it here too in case anyone in the thread has wondered and didn't want to ask. I'm 17 and when we bought the car it was used with 47k miles for under 30k. Basically my family needed another car and knowing I would be driving soon they let me have input as to what to get. I begged and researched some 335's until I finally found one that was right which is what we now have. Since 22k was the original budget I had to pay the rest with money i've saved up over a long time.

In regards to mods, I have to pay for all of those and maintenance. I work at a Liquor store in my town 2 days a week at $10 an hour and do some extra side jobs here for cash. Just sent payment to get OSS lights and now saving up for valve cleaning, msport, and exhaust. After that i'm going to hopefully be done and have a chance to start saving my money.

I'm in no way trying to brag like the some of you think but just trying to explain my situation and maybe prove some of you wrong in the process. Just because someone is young and drives a nice car does not mean they are a spoiled brat and irresponsible. It's like the saying "don't judge a book by its cover." You should wait until you know the person to make a conclusion. I know a variety of different kids with nice cars and some deserve them and are great kids while others are completely spoiled brats and are not grateful of what they get at all. If I told all of you some of the stories of kids at my school you would be amazed... Anyways, congrats on the new car OP! Enjoy it and be safe!
