OK, I get it now. Been reading up on wheel hop. This problem started after I started in on bolt-on engine mods; it did not occur with just the engine tune, and the suspension mods and SF bushings (and tires) came before all of that. At this point it sounds like stickier tires might increase the threshold at which wheel hop will occur, but even if tires solve the problem for now it will likely recur if I continue to increase HP/Tq, unless I replace the diff bushings and possibly some other rear bushings. Might have to start another thread in a different forum on that topic. My PS2s still have a lot of miles left on them, will have to think on this one some more before plunking down more cash on this beast. Thanks for the help guys!
