7th Injector?

Has any one ever thought about running a 7th injector to our car? Since our fuel system seems to have a limit with big power..

I have a few friends who have Cobolt SS' that have the GM's LNF motor. From what I have heard and minor research I have done.. These motors are some what similar to the n54. Direct Injection, cam driven fuel pump, turbo charged and etc.. They also have similar restriction's as we do - the biggest is the fuel system being tapped out. So what I've found out is they add a standard fuel 5th injector to there car right before the throttle body I believe.. correct me if I am wrong.

So if any one out there has any comments about this or theory how this might work.. post up.

yeah basically like meth injection but with fuel a cheap fix.. the right thing to do would be a new intake manifold with secondary port injection or figure out a way to upgrade the current pumps since i believe the current injectors are not maxed out yet

HPF already has a manifold with 6 more port injectors if you want more than the 644RWHP of the Vishnu kit. Even there, the Vishnu single is still running with plenty of fuel with what we speculate is just a low pressure delivery pump upgrade on stock injectors and stock HPFP. Yes, he does run a good bit of methanol, but still under 1500cc/min for cooling of the intake charge. High IATs will kill a high boost motor just like high AFRs.

wonder if such a 7th injector would help with the carbon build-up...

That's what Lexus does on their DI motors - they have extra port injectors to wash the valves off under certain driving conditions. Or at least that's what I've heard.

Great points every one , with the port injection - that sounds like a good idea. As far as meth - I am just trying to avoid the meth discussion and find an alternative more solid solution.

I have but I'm not sure its relevant to someone looking to avoid hitting a fuel limit if they are already hitting a fuel limit on pump gas. It still doesn't get away from the fact that e85 alone requires up to 30% more fuel. So if one is hitting a fuel ceiling then e85 would not be the answer is all I'm saying as it requires more fuel then regular pump gas.
