You have the G4 board. What you need to find out is; if you have the old harness, which you may have. If you have the old harness you are going to need to modify it. If you have the new harness (I think it is the one with the black and white connectors) then you just replace board, no need to modify harness.

Read here, I warranty you will find all your answers here:

G5 info wasn't even released until:
JB4 G5 Board Info - 05-11-2012, 03:02 PM
And sales weren't even at this time.

I would have posted direct links to Terry's forum but I wasn't sure if that would be allowed....lol

I set my own boost limit via the interface, and if i want to run more, i can to whatever i want with no limit via the board as the G4.

On top of having No lift shifting for manuals, and 2 step launches for manuals. (no use for me since im auto)

Then you have the new isolated boost control which is pretty major, this impacts everyone with DCI to FBO etc. This alone is pretty worth the upgrade.

Speed limiter is built in, 10$ for the wires that connect to the harness.
CPS is also built in if wanted, 10$ for the wires for the harness.
Both SLD ($80) and CPS($ not sure) cost a good amount of money to have on then G4 board.

Basically the G5 is ready for anything you can throw at it, bigger turbos, stock turbos, future developments etc.

Just the way i look at it.

I have the white and black subconnectors so I think the harness is fine, maybe I just need the actual board.

Wouldn't I be able to change boost targets on the interface anyways though?? I need to do some more reading on this; sounds like fun I'm missing out on lol...

I think only Map6 (custom tuning map) is the one that allows you to change boost targets on the interface.

JB4 is installed car is amazing no issues. What is the best map to leave it on with just Tune and DCI?

From what I heard the G4 will be fine. If you want FBO and RB turbos, meth, and higher boost then you will most likely need the G5 board. But they have plenty fast N54 with the G4 board. Also if you get the G4 it can be upgraded to the G5 for $150. Just depends on what your doing with the car.

Just get the G5, it's worth it for future development. Maps are also more aggressive, not just at peak boost, but the targets after reaching peak boost.

do all n55 jb4 stage 2 come with g5 boards? I bought it off from a e90 member but he doesnt know if its a g5 or g4. Can we find out if I plug it into the computer? If it is a g4 board, how can I upgrade to a g5 board? On BMS it only shows n54 upgrade to g5 board.

thanks.

I've been contemplating wether or not to upgrade to the G5 and maybe even run the G5 Iso. I'm just trying to figure out if it would be worth it with my mods (in sig)? No intention on running meth for now but I do run E85 occasionally.

The G5 ISO board is worth it for the boost response and consistency alone, not to mention more precise A/F management.

plus there are many more logging features such a LPFP and the ability to adjust OL and wastegate value's on the fly w/ steering wheel controls + more.

+1 its a good all round improvement. It also has a faster processor & more memory than the original JB4.

Well just ordered earlier tonight. So should I basically load up the latest firmware (15 i think), make sure its default settings then go or are there any things I should change around right off the bat?
