With and without my SSTT
I just took my car in for it's first service and I gotta say. The turbo tuner definitely makes a difference. The stock car feels so sluggish with terrible throttle response. even if the horsepower increase wasn't all that much, I think the throttle response is definitely worth it.

Do you own an SSTT? Do you even own a 335?

the higher throttle response is due to the increase in hp/tq.. but yes it is there, don't worry your not hallucinating, hes just trying to say that it doesnt directly improve the throttle, but because power is increased, automatically, the throttle is as well.

I clearly feel an increase in power at any given rpm which can be percieved as an increase in throttle response. The SSTT, however does not change the the acceleration as a function of pedal-to-floor effort. I may be wrong but I think the TMAP only has an effect on boost and a minor effect on fuel. Nevertheless, IMO the SSTT or Dinan are the only way to go unless you have the stomach for ECU surgery.

SSTT FTW! But honestly I LOVE the car stock as well! I never really appreciated the car in stock form as I went with the SSTT within 2-weeks of ownership.
I'm going to go back to the SSTT and adding an MSDS stage 1. |

I took my car in for service and left the SSTT in with no problems whatsoever. I'm lucky thogh because my dealer is mod-friendly.

In other words, yes of course they will do your scheduled service, but no, that doesn't mean you aren't taking a risk if later you need engine related warranty repair (for a new turbo for instance) by leaving your TT in for your service appointments. |

A short ram intake made by MSDS. Stage 2 is their cold air extension for the same intake.

btw i had some work done to my car under warranty, for the seatbelt arm and rear seat and truck lock. left my SSTT in, service never even popped the hood for anything. nor did they mention anything, in which some people say they logg it for lata, i asked my SA and tech, they said THEY dont do that |

Afterwards, I took out the springs and put the original springs back in, and brought it in, and they fixed it under warranty. (they asked me where I drive to pop them so fast, I said the 401 in Toronto). Well... I went to a different dealer (so that might affect it), I went back to the dealer that told me that I can't have it covered under warranty about 6 months later for regular service, and they said "you had your shocks changed didn't you." |

You guys are lucky to have mod friendly dealers,I asked my SA about the Dinan flash(he's not authorized Dinan dealer),his reply was that if I had the Dinan flash on my car,as far as he's concerned,my warranty would be voided,no free oil changes,no kind of warranty work whatsoever, nada,he would not touch the car in anyway,I would have to take it back to the authorized BMW Dinan dealer where I had the flash for any warranty work....Ron

My SA @ my dealer happens to be a personal friend and fellow " gearhead ".. he actually has a 335i running JBH2-R tune running low 12s @ the dragstrip. He knows about my SSTT. It's been widely accepted that the SSTT provides a safe/non-detrimental boost in power for the 335i. If not, certain dealers would not be selling them.
