BMW PE update:

The BMW PE exhaust has really come through. A couple of months later and a couple thousand miles made a great deal of difference in how it sounds. It sounds much more aggressive, has a nice throaty tone and true growl once you push the car past 4,000 RMP. Only now have I been as happy as I am with this purchase.

If anyone is/was/has been on the fence about a PE, I would say go for it. It's great!

I can agree with him. I purchased mine a few months ago, and I just hit 4k on it. Sounds great!! Fantastic Purchase!!

Just got the PE installed yesterday. Are you ready for some negativity?

Wow. I basically had an identical experience in every way. Ordered from BMW of Monrovia. Great price, shipping adjusted higher for east coast delivery. When it arrived the right upper tip was dented almost identically as yours...Weird....and after instal i was extremely underwhelmed. I honestly wish i had just done a Muffler and Res Delete for $900 less. All i can say is that i pray after the brake in it sounds more aggro. As is a stock VW VR6 still sounds better.

Im an idiot. it just needed to brake in, it sounds great now!
i would imagine that it will only continue to sound better, as i have only had it for a week now. It was very muted at first though, so i can see why there are mixed reviews on the system.

Yeah dont expect fast shipping, but you will get it soon. it took mine 2 weeks from the order date. Well worth the wait. Remember the Exhaust will not be very loud at first, go out and rip on it for a few days and it will come to life.

It took a couple hundred mile for it to start sounding good. I had it installed at my local repair shop for $65 it took them about an hour. Im sure the dealership would charge you much much more. I also had a BMS CDV installed at the same time. CDV is the best mod you can do on a 6mt, my car drives like a normal car, no more jumps and clunks between shifts!

Driven about 50 miles on it so far. Anyone know how much longer untill it brakes in or is if its gonna get louder?
That's normal. Everyone's report is the same for the initial impression--only to come back a few weeks later with elated reviews.

Don't sweat it, give her a few days/weeks/x-mileage to get past the growing pains.
