New Guy Introduction and a Question
Hey guys,
I am new here although not new to BMWs. Back in high school I drove my dad's 2002 325ci. And now that I am on my own I decided to buy my own BMW. Over Christmas I picked up a 2009 328i Coupe, Jet black exterior, over black Dakota interior, AT, sport and premium packages, came with a tint(not sure on the percent, but looks to be about 35-40%) and 78xxx miles on it. Dealer put brand new run flats(I know, they suck ), replaced the windshield and pulled a dent out of the side. cosmetically it is in really good shape and I didnt see any maintenance issues on the service records that concerned me. Anyway just wanted to quickly introduce myself and say hi. I am excited to learn from yall and get to modding it! I already have some stuff planned for when I get the car back. Its in NC right now and I am in NY, itll be up here in 3 weeks. Now to my question, it has the gray poplar trim interior, and I kind of wanted to spruce it up and personalize it a bit. So I am thinking of vinyl wrapping it with a different trim. I did a search and read about it and it does not seem very difficult just very tedious. I was wondering if anybody here has vinyl wrapped the trim with carbon fiber vinyl(black or silver) and how it came out. I like the look of the CF but am not sure if black CF will make the interior of the car too dark. Quick overview of the other mods that I will do as soon as i get the car: 1. Silver Aluminum Bimmian Pedals 2. BMWhat App and OBD dongle(for some basic coding/diagnostics) 3. Injen CAI 4. Cyba Scoops(Black) 5. Replacing the orange reflectors with smoked black ones 6. Smoked side markers(tentative, got them for cheap not sure if i will put or keep them on yet) 7. Debadge 8. Gloss Black Kidney Grilles 9. Fix peeling steering wheel trim(this is what is leading me to just redoing the whole trim CF) I dont want to go super crazy with the mods, i am in college so dont have a ton of money. Mainly just want to personalize it and make it my own. I plan on keeping the car for a while and want the look to be simplistic and classy, definitely dont want to rice it out. Anyway let me know your thoughts! Ill post a progress thread once i get the car back and start working through the mods! -Bruskey Pictures below if i can get them working... nice car, welcome. i wouldnt recommend bimmian for the pedals. either get the BMW made pedals from Tischer or get bmwpedals.com (aftermarket custom).

I hope we cant talk you out of the Injen CAI, as from a performance standpoint you are better off doing nothing than installing the Injen--unless all you want is intake noise. Other than that all your other contemplated mods are things I have done, plus a few more. Nice ride by the way.

Welcome and congrats!
There's definitely lots of guys who have done that wrap. It looks fine although it's not my preference. Here's a DIY. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201689 Happy modding!

Yeah the Injen is for the intake noise mainly, the car is a bit too quiet for my taste. figured I would just try it out! If I dont like it ill sell it back to someone else. I know that it doesnt add any performance whatsoever, I like the look and noise.
Thanks! I look forward to doing the work on it and getting to drive it! |

angel eyes look great and they aren't expensive or hard to install. i recommend the LUX angel eyes. other than that your car looks great man love it. maybe just get a fresh oil change and tune up and air filter. use some techron treatment. |

Doesn't the Injen intake interfere with any plans for a chargepipe with a single bov? It kinda spreads itself out a lot. Look at the offering from aFe, its beautiful, but you know they say that you can realise maximum gains from the cheap BMS one, 95 bucks and done, and it isn't ugly. I will be doing the aFe myself, just to keep things looking tidy in the engine bay, it's a good looking part.
And the angel eye mod is essential imo. I saw a white e92 coupe in oncoming traffic the other day with very bright white angel eyes, it looked very impressive. High impact per $ mod. |

Yeah no charge pipe on a 328, I believe that it is only needed on a turbo car. I will look into some Angel Eyes for April ish after this round of mods!

Welcome aboard Brewski! Nice looking ride. Often when I see people post pics of their car I'll quickly try to guess where they're from. So when I scrolled down and saw your car I immediately thought "North Carolina" (and no I didn't see the license plate). So when I scrolled back up to your profile and found that you are from NY I was like...wtf? Then I read the whole post and understood Good luck with your mods. My personal opinion is that the black CF will give your interior zero contrast, which will suck. I'd go with the lighter CF or aluminum wrap or something else altogether. Go shopping on www.metrorestyling.com Suit yourself!

It's just plug and play. I was glad my car already had the white angel eyes, but this must be such an easy mod that makes your car look even more premium!
