Best DC area dealer?
Looking for anyone's experience with DC area dealers. Relatively new to area and having cold starting issues (hpfp vs injectors?). Prefer the western side of DC or even Baltimore. Thanks.

I prefer Sterling. I've tried Fairfax, Tischer, and Sterling and Sterling has been the best of the 3. Do some searching in this section and on M3Post Mid-Atlantic section, there has been a ton a talk about this.
Welcome to the area, try to make it out to some meets!

Mixed feelings with VOB BMW. Originally was decent with me and my car, but my service manager isn't very attentive. I have been thinking about trying new places too. Tischer is the other close BMW stealership in the area to me.
Welcome to DC! |

Their garage is also old and cramped. I've seen both Tischer's and Passport's garage and they are leaps and bounds better than VOB.... |

I had rude service when buying my car from them this summer. The manager there is very shady and condescending when talking prices. Even the SA's are a bit sleezy. They were nickel and diming me down to the last $25 when negotiating the car's price.... some what ridiculous if you ask me.

I bought my car from VOB and it was a good experience. I think it all depends on who you deal with. My sales person's name was Nan and she was a pleasure to deal with, very attentative and responsive starting from my first contact with her. She's been there something like 15 yrs. On the other hand I have heard nothing but bad reviews regarding their service.
I dealt with Tischer too when I was shopping for a car, nice people over there. There service dept is suppose to be very good. |

Bought at Passport (best price) and service done at Sterling (location).
Wouldn't buy anywhere except Passport but very happy with both...

Sterling. They have two great SAs who are straight shooters and know what they are talking about. They put their money where their mouths are.
Peter Bradunas has an e92 with a Dinan Stage 2 S/W tune and a Quaife LSD on his personal vehicle. Now I would call that SA an enthusiast. Shawn Peace (sp) has been the SA responsible for great customer service when I had my HPFP problems early on in my car ownership. He really hooked me up with great service and loaner cars. My mechanic is a blonde bombshell from Colorado named Ana who is Peter's tech. You gotta make sure Peter is your SA just to meet Ana. She is hawt!!!!! Good German stock! She said so, herself. I have had a good experience at Arlington (now Alexandria) and Fairfax. My SA in Arlington is Kevin - he's great.

I'd say you should take it to Sterling, alexandria, Fairfax, Passport of VOB - at least according to the replies.
Find the one that is most convenient to you and go talk to the Service Manager. Tell him/her that you've just moved here and are looking for a dealership to service your car. Ask about loaners and so forth. You might need to go to a few before you get a warm and fuzzy. The dealership I go to is very friendly but has damaged my car twice - once to the point of needing a new bumper which deadlined the car for two months. |
