Is $500 for a M tech steering wheel & carbon fiber interior trim a good deal?
My friend is parting out and selling his parts to me from his old e90 335i.
Carbon fiber interior trim 8 piece. ($800) m tech steering wheel ($450) Labor to install is going to be $120 at ltbmw. Will the carbon fiber look good in a gray interior? Does the Mtech steering make a big difference? Is this a good deal. I'll be paying $500 + $120 labor. Thanks guys. |

steering wheel makes a huge difference imo, not just because of looks but the overall feeling you get when you drive the car.

I really like the steering wheel on my Msport E93, so I'd definitely recommend that as an upgrade.
As for carbon fiber trim, I wouldn't bother. Maybe I'm too old to appreciate it as a decorative piece, but to me it seems a bit shouty in a "look at me look at me look at me now!" way. JMHO. |

I'd definitely get the steering wheel, I just changed mines to the Perforated Leather Sports Steering Wheel yesterday and I love the feel of it but for the interior trim i'd get it if it makes you happy, if you have a nice trim already there's no need to buy the CF.

+1 one of the most UNDER RATED mods. It's actually super easy to install yourself, just unplug the battery before you mess with the Airbag

Absolutely do it. I have the OEM BMW Carbon fibre trim and it is wonderful, gets as many compliments as the red interior in my car. The M sport wheel is a nice touch too. Labor is reasonable, I paid $100 to install my trim, so $120 for wheel too is right. You could install it yourself, but snapping one of the clips on the old trim or the new one will ruin your day

I think the real question is can you sleep at night knowing you paid 500 dollars for a piece of plastic that you stuck on your steering wheel to make your self feel good?

OEM CF or wrap? That is a good deal, jump on it.
Wheel price is ok, get a buddy discount for buying both.

Not OEM... black would have matched better, but if you like it that is all that matters. Definitely an upgrade from wood.

I too was under the impression that it was black. I'd lose the steering wheel trim because it just stands out too much. Maybe you could find someone who would want to trade?
