that's not how it's done. you need to modify the nettodat file in the work folder.

Hi,

Anyone know which ECU has the parameter for AUX?
I went thru all of the ECUs, none of them has the AUX or AUXIN parameter...

I am trying to enable AUX input for my '06 530i. Appreciate any feedback...

On an 06 with FRM1 its a non-standard value. Meaning you have to change specific bytes using NETTODAT.

For instance on a 5 series, there is no standard line so you would read the LMA (5 series equivalent of the FRM) with NCS and open NETTODAT.TRC

Then in that file you look for a specific sequence, the 5-series being:
B 00340500,0010,95,71,00,83,0A,00,51,00,14,53,01,15, 59,04,00,00
You change the "95" byte to 97 and save it as NETTODAT.MAN
Then in NCS, select basic functions/coapiCodeSgByNettoDATA Type "NETTODAT.MAN" in the input box, and finish.

Hi, I followed the instructions for changing Vehicle_Order_CAS - executing job with FA_WRITE function. The last instruction says "Note: Only the CAS has the new vehicle order, the 2nd control unit which stores the vehicle order must now be coded with the new vehicle order, select F1 Change ECU and repeat process."

Which ECU do I need to change and repeat process?
Which is the 2nd control unit?

If these questions are primitive, please pardon me, I am new to this coding...

Add +NAUX in VO (CAS and FRM ) Recode CAPPL with expert profile.

Verify the following entry is set as follows
AUX_CONFIG
mounted

Hi, thanks for helping me with coding.

FRM is not in the list of ECUs for my car ('06 530i with build date of March 2005)
What other ECU will I need to add +NAUX along with CAS?

Guys if you were going to buy a cheap set up to start coding with can you tell me what I need? I am all Mac so was thinking of just buying a cheap PC laptop (small compact size) to code with so I can help others out in my area (Kansas). Links appreciated with cable/software needed. At work on my phone right now so searching is limited.

Thanks!!

Used expertmode, added +NAUX in CAS, changed job to FA_WRITE, execute job. Successful. No errors. I see 'AUX_CONFIG mounted' in .TRC file.

Then, added +NAUX in LMA, changed job to FA_WRITE, execute job. Successful. No errors.

Then, 'process car', 'code car'. I get the following error:

I think I am making a mistake in the steps of coding the entire car.

@pcy,

It looks to me that you are missing some files or have corrupted files. I don't know if you have the another version of daten files to try or use v45.

I think, you are okay since you added the VO to CAS and LMA. Just try to use the Aux input without processing the whole car. It should work as long as AUX_CONFIG is mounted.

The modules that store the VO are listed in the screen that pops up where you select CAS after the chassis code for your car.

It looks like file issues as stated above. Are you running the v7.x version of EDIABAS? It's hanging up on the active front steering line.

You could alternatively code the cas, lma, and whatever radio module you have (CCC?). Then just let the car go to sleep locked for 15 minutes and see if its activated.

I am running version 6.4.7.
I bought the cable and software from EUautohaus. I assumed they would give latest software :-(

I coded CAS and LMA after adding +NAUX. I don't see AUX on the display :-( even after letting the car go to sleep and checking later.

I think my car has CCC ('06 530i, build date 03/2005).

Any other suggestions?

You say you coded cas and lma. but after adding the VO you have to then code the modules that are effected... meaning you need to process the CCC module for changes to take place there.
