windshield molding clips

had windshield replaced.

side moldings are not flush and have gaps.

Need new clips.

can anyone confirm that I need these part numbers and how many? The realoem diagram is quite vague.

2008 E91, auto climate control.
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_5900
51137145110
51137172103

They also lost the memory card from my dashcam and now I have a condensation sensor error too.
This will be a fun time to get my stuff put back right, so I'm trying to go completely prepared with part numbers and such so they can't play dumb.
I was smart enough to scan the car and save a report showing that the fogging sensor was not broken the day of glass replacement. So at least they can't argue that it was prior damage.

Note to anyone that needs a windshield replaced, tell your insurance company you're taking it to the dealer.

I believe the parts you're looking for are under:

Vehicle trim > Exterior trim/grill
(Parts #8, 9, & 10)

08.GASKET LEFT(1 ea.) 51137184005 $17.88
08.GASKET RIGHT(1 ea.) 51137184006 $17.88

09.Clip (8 ea.) 51137145109 $1.00

10.Clip, bottom left(1 ea.) 51137145110 $2.50

10.Clip, bottom right(1 ea.) 51137172103 $2.50

*Also: I know it's after the fact, but make sure they replaced parts 5 & 6 as well.

thanks for the confirmation.
They did the top seal. I'll check the bottom.
part 16 doesn't seal to the bottom of the windshield either, so they need to fix that.

No problem.

Part 16 can seem a bit finicky when reattaching to the windshield, but it will seat once properly aligned.

Just have them pay attention to how it lines up with the cowl/windshield below as it seats into position.

so went for my warranty appointment today.

My moldings and seals are all put back properly now. My memory card was replaced and they've ordered a fogging sensor. I guess they pulled a wire out when they swapped it.

showing up with part diagrams and numbers helped my case. Showing up with a diag report that showed no faults before the service and one showing my fogging sensor broken after was probably pretty key in getting that replaced with no hassles.

I'd still tell someone to take it to the dealer for a windshield, because they'll just put a bunch of new stuff on it, but at least safelite is taking steps to make it right.

This is great news, and thanks for the feedback! Im glad they corrected the issue, and seems like it was relatively painless (the second time around)!
