Just wanted to know if there is a huge difference in sound quality between the standard hifi v the upgraded Alpine.

I find that the standard is pretty good for what it is. But curious to know more in terms of sound quality/clarity of the Alpine upgraded Hifi

Alpine is not an upgrade for Hi Fi
Alpine is an upgrade for the ampless stereo or base system.
So you are going to have a hard time finding somebody with
Hi Fi that has upgraded to the Alpine.
If you look at the specs the Alpine has 85 true rms watts per channel though.
Which is a lot more than what the Hi Fi has.

May I ask why did you go with Alpine rather than JL Audio?

I believe he's speaking of the bmw factory audio upgrade for base audio systems that's made by alpine. There's no factory JL Audio upgrade package.

But the factory HiFi is a 6 Channel Amplifier and alpine HiFi is only 4 Channel Amplifier...
