Any reservations about buying these?
An eBay auction says the following:
You are bidding on brand new TRW and Lucas (OEM) front and rear brake disc and pads , made in Germany. The TRW # is DF4460, DF4461, GDB1559, and GDB1560. They are $327 shipped, which is significantly cheaper than the dealership. Any reservations about that purchase? Is this seller correct with respect to the fact that TRW is the company that makes BMW brake pads/rotors? |

Can't answer your original question, buttttt... Just a heads up, I picked up a set of crossed drilled rotors (front/rear) and posi-quiet pads for less than that shipped from R1Concepts.
Just installed them and everything looks/works great. I'll be doing a review post by the end of the week, but I would definitely recommend them. ** yes, that jack is a piece of shit haha. |

You may want to paint that rotor hat before it rusts.
Never leave a car only on a jack. Use jack stands. Injury is not worth the minor time saved. I think ATE/Continental is making the brakes on our cars, but unsure. TRW is an american company, I doubt their factory is in germany. But anyway, if not counterfeit they are probably just as good as anything else. Where is the ebay vendor located is the most important criterion here. Last edited by Meeni; 08-07-2013 at 05:26 PM.. |

Rotors are zinc coated so they'll be alright for awhile. Reviews on the finish lasting have been good from what I've read on older installs.
I used jack stands for the install, just forgot to take pics with the wheel off for my review post. I wouldn't trust that jack for any longer than 90 secs haha. |
