Yeah I did.... I am in group B. They just asked me if there is anything in particular I want to work on. I said "yeah, I want to see how fast I can go without spilling my beer! lol"

that video is way too unrealistic...

For starters:
1) it's too green
2) it's not windy enough
3) There are way too many trees in the background

Just to name a few... HAHAHAHA

Yes, I did, and a call.

Meet @ the usual spot? Can't remember what exit that is on I-70. Tower Rd? Or is it after Tower?

Correction:
We met @ McD's @ Airport Rd and I-70, right? There was a gas station there too, IIRC.

Hey Alex. You can recycle it with engine oil - at least according to the docs I found.

Also, I got my inspection at Bimmerhaus - Jim was great, as always.

To the individual who did Redline 75W90 - I believe that the BMW-juice for the diffs is a 75W140 - should stand up to higher temps a bit better. May be worth considering in the future.

Anyone tried to undo the fill-plug for the transfer case? That's no fun to get to...

@ aleckzandr:
At HPR we were discussing weights of the Kosei K1's - I'm swapping them off right now and weighed them:

Kosei K1 17x8.5 w/ 245/40/17 after 1 HPDE -> 42.8 lbs
for comparo my summer set:
BMW 162 (F) w/ RE050 RFT 225/40/18 w/ 50% tread left: 52.8lbs
BMW 162 (R) w/ RE050 RFT 255/35/18 w/ 20% tread left: 53 lbs

keywords: tire wheel weight weigh

Man, HPR was a hoot today! Great track, great weather, and the car behaved really well (aside from the squishier XI suspension). No limps during all four sessions, temps stayed around the midway point, and I was hitting a little over 120 on the back straight.

Got to ride in with Alex on one of his laps, and was surprised how much of a difference the coil overs made. He could take corners at speeds that I wasn't coming anywhere close to. (Of course, I'm sure the driver mod has a lot to do with that as well. )

Met up with Michael and his Interlagos E90 M3, which won Car of the Day. Love that color on the ///M!

Sid never showed though.... Hope you're okay, man. Not like you to miss a driving event.

Glad you guys had fun.

Have you guys thought about going on a Friday (open lapping day)? Sounds like the inspections won't be as strict as what BMW CCA requires?

Yeah man I am ok. I had an um...."incident" on Friday night. I took a corner pretty hard and hydroplaned into a curb. My front tire popped on impact and oil and radiator fluid went everywhere. So, I had to have the car towed to the dealership at 130AM on Saturday. I was pissed that this happened right before HPR. I was really looking forward to it. Now I just want my car back Hopefully I will get it back before the Spring Drive.

So far that is all... I am waiting on a quote for the stealership today. Hopefully its not too bad but I am preparing myself for the worst. I am guessing there is probably going to be quite a bit of suspension and alignment type of work that needs to be done.

What do you think guys? Since my left front tire/rim took the brunt of the damage, what kinda work should I be expecting?

lower control arm, steering knuckle, tie rod, and the worse case scenario would be a steering gear rack. Hopefully not because I see that rack easily costing up towards 1K.

I am already expecting a couple K's for the bill. Its all good though because insurance has it covered and my deductible is really low. I just hope they replace my rims and dont try and give me that "they are still good" crap! Those rims were still scratch and curb rash free! I am also going to see if I can pick up some OEM CF splitters.

Once I get myself together I plan on hitting up a Friday session, much less traffic I assume.

Sid: Some more parts to consider
Radiator, oil cooler, oil and coolant. That's going to be a mighty big bill. My guess is around $4500. Good thing for insurance!
