M3 steering wheel to sports steering wheel

Has anyone upgraded to the M3 steering wheel and then gone back to the sports steering wheel?

I am in 2 minds at the moment as i have upgraded to the M3 wheel but the padding I feel is slightly too thick and I think I prefer my old steering wheel?

I am not sure maybe I will swap it back over and see how I feel before I make a decision?

I assume the m3 wheel is the same as the m sports wheel that I have. Perforated leather around the middle with soft napa top and bottom?

It is thick yes, but I love it. It feels soft and luxurious and just finishes off the nice tactile sensation I get from driving my BMW. Wouldn't go back!

M3 wheel is different to the m sport wheel. M3 doesn't have perforated leather, it's a thick padded wheel tri stitched and it is considerably thicker than the SE and noticeably thicker than the m sport.

Ok then yeah that would be too thick!! My perforated Msport is on the edge of my maximum preference for thickness. I remember Chris Harris hated the steering wheel in his m3
