Look at the service history like carfax (not sure what india has). Maybe have Pre-purchase inspection done at dealership unless its being sold used from bmw dealer then I wouldnt worry about it.

If its not at bmw dealership, Check the belts, tires, oil, coolant (make sure its blue with a flashlight looking into the tank), power steering. When you initially move it from its spot on lot get out and look if its leaking anything onto the ground. Then since you dont know where in the maintenance schedule the car really is at i WOULD consider investing 600-700$ in starting the car off fresh. New coolant, P/S flush, Oil change, New belts...Maybe a pulley if it needs it. Air/Cabin/fuel filters. Depending on what you see keep that in mind as a cost should you buy it.

Maintenance is main thing about a bmw, you treat them good and they will treat you well. I run STP complete fuel system cleaner every 2 months also.

Im not going to lie either make sure you have 2nd car you can drive, thats why im holding onto my E46 328i because sometimes these cars do need work done and having another will save you some major headaches when you gotta go to work.

Thanks for the info, i m buying it from a bmw dealer who is giving 2 year warranty with the car, over here the service is called bmw premium selection where they do a 360 degree check on the car before they sell it, will check the service history for sure, the car has 20k kms done around 12.5k miles. This is my first used car purchase so putting a lot of thought into it, i guess the miles on the engine is less compare to the engine life max running? what about the initial engine breakin period, should i worry if thats done properly? sorry for all these question, my first used car purchase

Thanks..

Check to see if it is really a 325i, I could've sworn my car, an 06 325, was the last 325 e90 made.

Look under the oil filler cap for sludge build up.

Look under the oil filler cap for sludge build up.
Also World Wide models are not the same as US models.
We can't and never did get a 320d here or a 335 wagon for
example.

It depends on the country, Bmw changes things up with other places. In USA my 06 330i was last year they used inline 6 engine in usa. Other countries on other hand thats not true.

Lets hope the break in period was done correctly, Honestly bmw owners are normally pretty good about taking their cars in under warranty so I wouldnt worry to much about it. With those miles yours is like you said still under warranty. Also The break in period is pretty minimal for bmw's when I looked through the manual on mine everything is 500-1000 miles.

The Wagons in general are very very hard to find in usa.

yes its still under 2 year warranty, the car has done 12.5k miles, i guess thats not much for the engine to come up with issues..

With that kind of mileage, a BMW is barely broken in. If the price is right, buy it and enjoy!

You should be good with a 12.5K mile 325i. Just understand what the warranty covers- may be different in different parts of the world. Also, fluid levels- coolant and power steering.

going to the dealer tom, will check to see what the warranty fine print says, on the phone he told me everything is covered for 2 years except for wear & tear parts.

haha i agree, these cars are very expensive here
anyways i check with the car today, seemed in good condition except for few tinny wear & tear scratches inside, like the steering wheel had peeled off abit near the multi function buttons, the dealer said he will change it to a new one so its ok. the car has a 2 year standard warranty most of the things are covered except for severe wear & tear parts. Wanted to ask, this 325i has an auto box, does this auto box have a clutch? heard they don't have a clutch..

Thanks.
