Yes I can imagine that of you Carlos

Sorry to hear about the change of plan though... buying a property can be an anxious time. Better luck next time though.

Who has been dangling this carrot Carotloss... I mean Carlos?

Also, who was going to bite it - the miswah?

Finally, who has been doing the whipping and now taken it away?

Answers please.

Has her family let you down! What a bummer, you seemed very excited earlier today. F@ck, F@ck, F@ck:sad0147::sad0147:

Is there no way around the issue?

Carlos - something will work out for you, maybe not with this property, but I'm certain you will sort something out in future.

being a cynical bastard it might be in your interest to try and do this alone.

Not doubting your relationship, I just know that in 10 years you MIGHT be thankful you did it on your own.

Trust me on this...

I cant get the mortgage on this particular property on my wage, it was a combined wage which let us get it!! we can still do it with my deposit i have saved, but the mortgage will be alot more and i aint happy putting in cash when miswah isnt.

just very disappointed really, she has been trying to get me to move out and in with her for years.. i dont really like change and get very well looked after at home, then finally as it just about feels right and the right place turns up.....................

CArlos,

You do not have to own a house 50/50 although obviously this may feel more ideal.

So if you put a deposit in it could be say 55/45 for example and hence covers you if problems occur and you need to sell.

Your lady is only young from memory and it's a big ask to find money from family, savings, etc.

How far is it from home, I am sure you can pop back for food and washing.

why not just go self declared ?

i.e. if you can afford the monthly they don't give a stuff what you earn.

That's what I did, I assume you can still do this ?

Might be worth going for a tracker as I heard the rates might GO DOWN anyway

Have her pay you rent and don't put her on the deeds... that way it's fair for you to go 100 on the deposit, then when you get bored of her there's no nasty splitting of property to worry about.

again, trust me on this...

Can you get any property? It is important to get on the ladder and once you have the freedom of your own home, there is no going back. We all have to start somewhere, I started in a right shithole on the A13 in Barking, but it was the right thing at the time to get my Lovewah pad

Hi Carlos, in fear of sounding really boring & being still at work, there are various legal options available that ensure you would own, and on any future sale would have the greater share of the legal estate. There is also something that can be noted on the registered title that effectively stops either one of joint owners acting solely regarding ANY disposition on the property.

In a nutshell, there are options available which would protect your larger financial contribution. It may be something to consider should you wish to go ahead and purchase.

Good luck.

Yes mate, i can afford a shitter place, but this place was upmarket.. and i cannot do it alone on my wage, it would have to be combined wage..

altho the mortgage i could afford what it is a month with only my wage but with 4 x my wage which is what they do i cant afford it.

if you kno what i mean.

the monthly payment is affordable, but lenders wont lend me the full amount on my wage, so we combined our wage, i had decent deposit, miswah WAS led to believe she would have the same as what i do.. but now we dont, we can still do it with just my deposit but the monthly payments would be higher, and i feel it would cause friction between us as only i had put capital down.

Carlos

Only both of you can decide what to do. What does the miswah think about you doing the deposit?

Does she feel let down about not getting the money?

If you are not 100% it's going to happen talk to the estate agent, explain your problem and see if you can put an offer in say £10,000 less. What have you to loose?

If you both really want it and love each other why would there be friction? The miswah should be appreciative
