Gifting Works in my state regardless of the value of the car. The salvage title was due to an accident that involved a front end impact. The Bumper, Right Headlight, Hood were replaced.

As long as you have the title and keys, who cares. Its beneficial to the buyer to avoid taxes and its not like there's warranty on private sales...
