BMW MODS...First BMW
I just bought a 2006 BMW 330i, looking to add some minor mods.
Intake, exhaust, skirts ....can anyone suggest what I should be looking for. This is my first BMW. Thanks! |

Congrats and welcome! pepep had a good starting point I think but considering yours is a pre-LCI you'd need LUX 5.1 instead or MTec V3s for your angel eyes. I'd also suggest a set of blacklines. As for body kits / parts I would suggest surfing through the photos and cosmetics sections. Also, Havok had a GB thread showing a bunch of available parts as well. The GB is over for this year from my understanding but the pics are good for some ideas / reference.
Also, nothing beats going to one of the 2 meets / 1 cruise that are scheduled for this month. A lot of the guys here are pretty helpful. |

Dude let me be honest with you. Intake and exhaust aren't worth it for performance on this car. BMW maxed the crap out of performance as it is stock. Even with headers, intake, exhaust, AA tune, you still won't be very quick and a stock 335i will eat you for lunch. And you'll be out two grand plus. I was like you when I bought my first BMW, trying to mod it, but trust me, and use google as your friend if you don't believe me, the E90 330i is not a great car to mod for the amount of money you need to sink into it.
That's why I stuck to performance mods, matte black grill, cf mirrors, carbon fiber front splitters, Lux 5.1 angel eyes, LED license plate bulbs and clears all around, a light drop (if you must), and a nice set of wheels and tires. The previous owner for my car got a 20% tint which also looks great on these cars. Also if you have chrome window trim, blacking that out and getting backlight tails (waste of money IMO for the price) will make your e90 stand out. But performance mods? Forget it, sell this and save up for a more unreliable 335i |

Ya I'm thinking of scrathing the intake, spending that money in cosmetic mods.
However, I just want that noise with an exhaust, hence I was keen on that. I know it won't do much to the performance, but I would like to get that if I get a good used one for a good price. What you think? |
