Thank you for the info, this is the way to go!

I get it done now for around $80, which involves:

- Trip to Wal-Mart for 7 quarts of Mobil 1 (around $45)
- Trip to dealer for OEM filter (cheap like 12 bucks)
- Trip to NTB for the service using my parts - ask for coupon price, around $25.

I realize DIY is an option -- the filter is right there on top, as is the fill cap -- but I don't have a lift or much garage space to work with, and the cover at the bottom of the car is not something I want to mess with unless the car is high enough for me to stand up under.

Price shows a shipping charge on getbmwparts.com for oil.

Hi Jason,

Why is it that the cart show a $14 shipping charge when I select the oil change kit with ground shipping to zip code 95121? Will that go away when I actually check out? Thanks, ready to pull the trigger on the kit.

Yup, our site software isn't smart enough to remove the standard shipping charge on individual items - but we take care of that when we process/ship your order.
