Stage 1. I bought an extra airbox from another member, preped the airbox and attached the flange. Then I swapped airboxes with a rubber plug from Home Depot inserted into the flange to put the car back on the road. Stage 2. Figured out what to do with the P.S. bracket, routed hose and filter. Hooked up hose to the flange and done. |

There's a mounting tab connected to the body that has two holes. One of the holes points straight up, the other points forward at a 45 degree angle.
The reservoir bracket uses the straight hole as-is, and my cheesy bracket serves as glue between the reservoir bracket and the slanted hole. -Rob |

Don't remember offhand... Probably M8.0, 10-15mm long.
http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/me...ads-d_777.html I took the original bolts to Ace, found a nut that fit, then found the rest. -Rob |

how about attaching some sort of y pipe and taking from the two fog light openings. Would that be any better or would you need an opening in the box for each set of piping?

Here is a question.
I just got a 1M and was looking at doing this. I just installed a AFE filter and scoops and noticed the lid of the stock air box seems pretty closed. instead of adding this filter has anyone tried / some tried making a larger cover? IE make the cover taller and not taper to the post filter side? I know Dinan's is kind of like that. Just a thought |
