Timing is everything...I think if he was 100% nuts about the Porsche he would keep it, but its not what he thought in the end vs the money he has to pay for it, so why not get what you enjoy and can justify, and come back to the Porsche when its on better terms...

Owning a Porsche and riving a Camry everyday is no fun either, could end up with two cars you are not happy with...
