My car is at the dealer... I did unistall my cobb and dci. My codes indicates hpfp, i called the dealer yesterday and still have not touch my car. Weird thing is that my service rep told me that he never heard something about hpfp recall....so i had to print their service bulletin stating that bmw will cover 10yrs/120000 will see how much they are planing to charge me.
And thinking a lot about getting another car...mine with 97k almost there for hpfp expiration and worried about turbos |

Changed the LP sensor and used INPA to read the low pressure sensor value and it seems to be steady normal value at 5000~ Hpa compared to before, it was showing close to 7400 Hpa which is too high. Next step is to road test it to see if the car runs normal. If not then my next step is changing out the LPFP. Keep you guys pOsted of my saga.
Look at the different reading on the "fuel low pressure sensor" between the two pics. The first is after the SP sensor change and the second pic is of the old sensor. Changing it out immediately there was a change, so I am praying it will work on the road test! Last edited by cn555ic; 08-02-2012 at 10:13 AM.. |

So far on initial test going 3/4 throttle no issues like before. Next stop WOT but it's looking good guys. Can't believe this piece of shit LP sensor was the root of all my issues. Crossing my fingers!

JUst took the car out and finally did a couple of WOT runs and the car is running perfect. It seems to be running so much better and more efficient with the new LP fuel sensor. I guess the fuel delivery was compromised all this time that I had this faulty LP sensor...Weird part is that I have logged this 29F3 code for the longest as the car has been running fine with this code for the longest! I guess it finally went! PROBLEM solved!
I guess with this thread people who have the same symptoms as I posted with codes of 2A2D (low pressure fuel), 2AAF( fuel pump plausability) and the 29DC(injector switch off) can first change out the LP sensor. Total hours 4 hours to get to this sensor and replace and reinstall everything back. Last edited by cn555ic; 08-02-2012 at 10:44 PM.. |

good to hear.
Ironically, I drove 5x as many miles in one year than you did in five years and my car hasn't had a single mechanical failure lol.

My car is somewhat a lemon! Water pump failed at 7000k, 10k the fuel sensor crap out on me! I dont drive it all that much for these types of failures for sure, but heck I have been tuned since 400 miles and fully bolted on since 2000 miles! lol

Took car out for a early morning test WOT from 0-120 and the car works perfect....A/F in check, no timing drops a 16.5 boost with meth. Car works flawlessly again. Can't believe the sensor was the culprit of all my woes! The old sensor that I had on the car from 2007 has a different part number on it. I guess that old sensor was a defective part and hopefully now its a newer version with better construction and design.

steven - glad to hear you're back in business! and that you didn't have to change out the lpfp.
did you get the sensor from auto parts warehouse too? do you have the part # or link? i'm going to order and try this and see if it fixes my issue. sounds like this will be my chance to check/clean the intake valves on the new motor... luckily my miata build just passed inspection yesterday so i can park the 3 for a bit to do this. and for future hpfp reference, no one should have an issue getting that replaced - my car was totalled (ALL warranty gone) and is now modded, and they didn't blink an eye when i got those codes.

Glad you got this resolved. Reading this thread reminds me of why I need to get on the ball with working with INPA and NCSExpert. Got the cable and software. Just have to find a little time to experiment...
