I have some parts from the time when I was trying to buy Euro-Air box. Then I gave up. It might be a nice replacement for original snorkel. Last picture is just when I was trying to make some adapter. I couldn't locate any Euro Box for sale. It from e-bay, so if anyone wants it for $100 + Shipping... It would be a nice project.

Sold.

1257 CFM - EURO box with paper filter
1265 CFM - Euro box with K+N filter
1300 CFM - OPEN no box, max flow on my DIY flow system

What does all this mean? EURO box with K+N filter flows 2.1% more air than stock box. 230HP = 2.1% more air flow + 4.8 HP, So I estimate a 5 HP increase. Sounds about right and the math backs it up.
Bump ;-)

Would be curious to know the rating for stock box with paper filter but NO carbon filter. Maybe it would closes the gap enough so that the Euro box is not worth it.

It's not worth it. AFE SI or Dinan.

AT ECS prices, I agree the Eurobox is not worth it. Now, if you do like me and pick one up out of a parts car in Germany on eBay for $75, then I think it's worthwhile.

agree, at some price why not? worst case, the filter is easier to change / clean.

I've tested pressure drop through stock BMW rubber elbows, i don't see the point in those things at all. The difference between a stock rubber elbow and nothing at all (open throttle) was zero. E90 could be different but i doubt it..

Yup. Certainly won't be something you see on cars of people like you or me.

Exactly, and in fact that was my driving force behind the purchase. The clamshell design of the US-spec airbox is just a pain to deal with.

I replaced my standard US one with a eurobox that I got from AU for $150 shipped. And then sold my US box for $150. That trouble was worth it to me for the easier to change (or clean if you use the K&N) benefit. I also added another 'placebo' the intake scoops, which did seem to help at high speeds. Figure this car is breathing about as good as it can and if I got more than 1 HP out of it, great.

Can someone please help me with finding one? I've been on eBay Germany and eBay UK and the cheapest one I could find was 200 pounds...and it was damaged. Do these things just come along our of the blue, or am I just looking in the wrong spot?

I found mine on this site in the one of the regional/international forums. Mine was from a guy on the AU site. Check the forums here too!

German supplier for euro intake

I've found a German supplier that will ship to the US. As far as I know this is a brand-new OEM part:

https://en.partacus.de/spareparts/de...00f18dc022057/

The total is 262.95 EUR shipped, which comes to around $290 at current exchange rates.

They also have the euro performance intake, though I don't see how it could possibly be worth another $700.

What's the trick to getting the original filter to release out of the intake box? I can't seem to figure it out.
