License Plate Frames
Looking for a good clever license plate frame for my 335. What do you guys have? I remember there was a vendor at the Tacoma Mall that had a good selection, I've searched online and cannot find any.

the best license plate frame is the one you don't put on. they look like crap. every single one of them. don't do it.

+1: My dealers frame stays on until the warranty is up. Then it's in the trash.

On my last trip to Maui, i stopped by the BMW dealer there and picked up a plate frame. On top of the plate it says "BMW of Maui", and on the bottom it says "Aloha". I like it because its different than pretty much any other frame I've seen and it makes me want to go back to that place everytime i look at the back of my car.

hmmmm.. yeah, i don't think they are going to void your warranty because you removed the dealer's license plate frame.

I usually just go to Autobarn or some other auto store and pick up a thin, plain, gloss black metal frame. Nice and clean, and inexpensive

I bought the plain black ones, which looks good on my black car.

I think color matched looks clean. Otherwise, go without.

I'd get a colormatched slimline, but I haven't found one yet and don't care enough to try painting one myself. I'd do gloss black to match shadowline trim if I had it, but I don't, so I have a naked plate. I don't like frames that partially cover up text on the plate; that just looks sloppy to me.
That eBay CF frame is espcially bad: you'll either have two (bottom) screws under the frame so it won't sit straight, or your plate will rattle every time you close the trunk. Bad mojo. |

How about the front? What are people doing for their front plates (if they have em ). My plates finally came in, and I'm intentionally procrastinating on putting them on.

http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...egoryCode=3146 I also got a nice plastic frame that has flush screw caps and painted it the same color as my car. It looks 10x better than that huge stock plate holder. |

Bimmian/Skene
I purchased the Skene Design bracket (http://www.skenedesign.com/) in combo with a Bimmian body colored plates for front and rear (http://www.bimmian.com/90/). I can remove the bracket and the body colored plate minimizes the actual plate size.

I'd go with either a Carbon Fiber or Painted license plate frame.
