Earthquake SWS8xi Install Help

Hi Folks,
Trying to install new SWS8Xis in my E90. I bought the spacer kit from Earthquake and would like to try to keep all my OEM wiring intact so I can reinstall the OEM subs if I ever decide to sell the car. Any good suggestions on how to do this? Thanks in advance

You can look in my build thread and titled 335D upgrade that rocks there is a example although not perfectly applicable to your case posted there

My Woofers had four connector pins due to the stereo configuration wired in parallel with the doors, yours will only have two but I believe I have the part numbers in there for you to source at the dealer to make the new speakers plug-and-play

If you don't want to get the connectors you can run your own wiring. There's no reason not to use the stock wiring though as long as you don't cut any wires.

From my understanding the stock subwoofers plug in to the car's harness via a proprietary plug. I would like to retain a "plug and play" setup so I can revert back to OEM without having to rewire. Are you saying that I should just be able to plug in the new SWSs without having to cut any OEM wiring?

I pointed you to the answer already, no need to ask the question again.

now that I am on my home computer, I can give you the link.

See my post here

You will need the green plastic housings and 2x pins (per side) not 4 as in the example. You can crimp the pins onto whatever wire is on your SWS.

Thanks Tai, I actually dug up your DIY before but wasn't clear on which connector to get. Appreciate all your help.
