I've registered--August 10 @ 13:30.

Let's see if I remember anything from the PDC school.

I think Donny and Scott should have a pancake eating contest at the IHop.

I don't think the MT cars will be available. It's usually 100% AT.

Glad I read the whole thread. I was about to sign up for 9:30am when I read Donny's first post. I love sunrise driving -- it would have been a nice drive out there for the 9:30am time slot. But I'd rather be with everyone else.

I'm in for 1:30pm on August 10th, too.

For the basic (i.e. free) 2 hour experience, I doubt MT cars would be available or readily available. But if you decide to ante up to the 1/2 day $595 experience then MT experience is a must (as the RS4s come in MT only and I suspect they'd only stock MT R8s)

I would love to go to the track, but I would actually prefer to not do it on an event day. I wonder if they allow you to pay and drive on weekends...

as much as I'd like to do Sun Rich, its normally reserve for my cycling. I'd try to make the early Sat run and 60/40 in considering the RS4/R8 event

Well.... after all my big talk and baiting Donny, Scott, and Al, my wife informs me that we'll be driving home from New England on Sunday, so I have to cancel out. Have fun on the track, guys. Be safe.

Here's a review of the Audi Driving Experience to give us an idea of what to expect... Sounds good

Quote:
December I went to the Audi Driving Experience event at the California Speedway in Fontana when I was in LA. That Audi one was pretty sweet, probably the best driving event I went to last year. Whats nice is your pared up with another guest and take turns driving the various Audis. The instructors stand outside and watch us drive and abuse the cars. The A4, A3, Q7, A4 Avant, and A6 are very responsive in the emergency braking and slalom courses that Audi had us drive on. The acceleration test was nice too, nice flooring them cars and hear the engines! The quattro is nice and helps the cars handle really well. After the short abusing on the coned course comes the best part, it was being able to drive the new S5 coupe manual tranny (also had an automatic for those who don't know how to drive a stick) around the California Speedway with the pared guest! The instructor was in the lead car, we just followed him and we were able to get up to 85mph on the track! In the end of this hotlap, one lucky person who showed the best driving abilty according to the instructors got to ride in the R8, but it wasn't me! They also had a tent setup inside with a shell of a TT, along with the lineup of their cars to sit in including the R8. Inside the tent they had bistro meals which consisted of a deli sandwich and chips. They also had Pepsi products, bottled water, and Redbull energy drinks. I got a few Redbulls for the road. I definitely recommend the Audi Driving Experience event if there is another this year!
