pissed n confussed at the dyno

so i went and got the car dyno today on a mustang dyno. i did logs while he was doing a couple runs. but he was having trouble with running it in 3rd gear cus its auto and it would automatically downshift to 2nd gear, so he had to run it at a higher rpm in 3rd and and above 40mph. well after all said and done i was not impressed with the numbers. he blamed it on the dyno cus of my car being auto or the dyno reads alot less..but either way the readings are 279hp, 314tq. Which i don't think is right? car feels and seems alot faster then that. especially with what i raced. can i get your input on this..it has me frustrated and confused

Tell the dyno operator not to mash the gas pedal all the way to the floor, there's a kickdown switch there.

+1, although those numbers seem about rigbt for your mods/mustang dyno.

The logs tell the story. The tune is asking for 16psi and your car is producing 10psi. Massive boost leak or wastegate issue would be my guess...

My numbers were 280 whp and 380 torque... I need to log a few runs.

What's weird is that when I'm on the streets. My boost hits 14 but never hit 17 yet. It was hot yesterday about 87 degrees. Just wonder how I would be having a leak already. Maybe I should put the stock cp on n see if it's the new cp I got leaking???

Are uou sure you see the boost hitting 14+ on the streets? Map 2 jb4? Sorry on a iPhone. You shouldn't be hitting 17 psi.

On the st. Map 2 jb4 and I hit 10-14. But I tried map 7 and it's only 14. Both maps never go above 14 even with 100 octane.

Was it with full 100 octane ? Map 7 should be hitting 16+.

It's most likely a boost leak. Do you hear any excessive air sounds when spooling ? Put it in a high gear up a steep hill and floor it and you might hear air leaking sound?? Lol

Agreed with everything said above.. 4th gear pulls without hitting that damn kickdown button. And definitely a boost leak judging by the logs.

Guess imma have my buddy at BMW do a smoke test for me n see where it's coming from. But meanwhile I might throw on the factory cp n see if that's the problem. Cus when I put the new one on I forgot to put the big o ring gasket to the throttle body on. And I was only boosting 8-9. But after I fixed that it now boost 10-14. On map 2. But I still feel like the new cp isn't fully fitted even tho I adjusted and readjusted. Is there another o ring gasket to the inter cooler pipping?
