My First Bimmer

Thought I would finally post after 4 or 5 weeks of daily reading posts on this forum.

Just Bought a Pre-Owned (CPO) E92 2008 328xi last Wednesday.
I am loving this car!!

Moroco Blue
Tinted windows
BMW Performace OEM style 313 19" rims with RFT's
HK audio
xeon lights
17" rims off a 335 and Dunlop winter tires RTF's
54000 KM

Have no pics yet but wont be long need a background pic for the computer

Only issue that I would say I have to get used to is the stiff steering in this car, to turn this steering wheel while trying to park is a work out (yes I need to get in better shape).
I guess I just not used to it yet
but from what I have read on the subject here
the 3 Series are stiff without the active steering and that the general answer was I am better off going to the gym

But the handling and HP I have never experienced a better drive.

Today Driving Home I see that there is a warning light (Exlamation mark in a Triangle) all yellow

Name: BMW warning.jpg
Views: 5430
Size: 38.9 KB

Any one know what that is for?

I am due to go in to the the dealer very soon to change my Tires ( I want to avoid the rush)
but is this something I should be worried about?

I did look up this on the forums but most lead to no were
and no one actually stating what the warning was.

I did read about clicking toggle through my menu options via the OBC stalk to my left and select 'check', and I should be able to see the error message in question.

I tried briefly before entering into the house
but I really do not know how really to use it yet.
was the first time I even tried was today.

Thanks in advance

Enjoy your new ride. The steering is really stiff, I was coming from a 98 Corolla so I definitely know what you mean. =]

Steering is stiff, but after a while it's soo much fun. Esp at high speeds

p.s. high speeds I mean 100km/h to 120km/h

Congratz bud. You'll def enjoy your car. Haven't been a day yet where i didn't want to drive my car.
As for the steering I actually hated Merc steering (soft) when i was shopping for a car and after driving my buddy's 335 I stopped liking steering in my car cause it felt softer. If you think its stiff now trust me, when you put wider wheels/tires and drop your car gets even stiffer. I love mine now :P

Is it really that stiff? I have active steering, but wish I didn't. I need to try one out without the active steering.

It comes on when you're at 90km left for fuel. At 50km left for fuel it will constantly display the gas light

Stiff steering? What a time we live in. You need to try a car without power steering... that'll give you a workout!

Congrats on the new car! I'm on my 3rd BMW now. I keep switching to other makes but keep coming back.

Just an update to the stiff steering

Thank god I mentioned to Dealer today that I found the steering stiff
(Yes dealer after 2 weeks )
Initially went in for Static noise originating from all speakers ..Even when radio was off, and figured at same time get winter tires on ..Beat the rush and avoid another appointment.

Turns out a Boot in the steering column was seized, in turn making it harder to turn the steering wheel.

They also fixed the static noise by re-coding the Radio... lost all my presets

Winter rims are not as bad as I thought they would be...not sure on which Model/style they are
will have to post pics soon

I probably would have wondered the same thing having taken delivery of my first BMW (a 2007 CPO 328i E90) just 3 days ago and still being on my first tank of gas.

Congrats!
