Adesa Auction Access

My old login I used to use for Adesa seems to no longer work so I was wondering if anybody could help me out.

Could somebody provide me with an account to temporarily use or provide me with recent auction lists from Adesa so I can get an idea of available pricing.

Are Adesa auctions any good? How are the quality/price of the vehicles? If you are able to purchase cars at Adesa Auctions(with +$500 on top of the price) would you? Instead of going through dealer etc?

Sometimes you will get a steal of a deal... sometimes you will get a nightmare.

You have to be very patient and be willing to wait months and months and months to find the perfect car.

Define perfect car? Cause I thought all you can see is where it came from, mileage, what packages and carfax report?

I don't think you can see maintenance or take the car out to get it inspected before right?

You can purchase an inspection, called "buyer protection" if my memory serves me correctly. It was an inspection done by someone on site before the title transfers. Basically, if there was more than a certain amount of repairs required, then you could have the seller pay to fix it or renegotiate the price. I remember that some cars under a certain price range didn't qualify for it though. Its been a few years since i last went there, so don't quote me on this! There were some good deals to be had though, especially when cars went through with no minimum reserve price. Saw a 9 year old 740 e38 go for $2,900. Market price at that time was still around 15k for a decent one of that age/mileage.

Here's some food for thought....Prior to recently purchasing my first BMW, I was also looking at the Adesa auctions as well. Perhaps someone can confirm this but I was told that there is a process that allows other BMW dealerships the first right of refusal on vehicles being put up by other BMW dealerships (almost like an exclusive first round) as a means to increasing their own inventories. What this implied to me was that any vehicle that went on to the other dealers/independents were passed up on by all other BMW dealerships as one they would not purchase and/or CPO themselves (for whatever reason, despite how good the vehicle looked in person or on paper, they all chose to pass on it).

What ultimately had me assess my risk tolerance more closely was finding a low mileage 08 328xi on the block that had a clean CarProof but was disclosed at the auction as having met the definition of having "structural damage"....whatever that ultimately means.

I ended up going Certified Pre-Owned with BMW directly for my first purchase.
