Passing Aircare With Headers
I have a friend who is a manager at an Aircare depot and he says that a car can be passed with headers so long as they see the cats underneath the car and there are no codes.
Is this true? He said that it is purely diagnostic through the computer on our cars. I have an 07 that I am looking to put headers on. |

The error can be bypassed one way or another. The headers would remove the primary cats but my friend told me that they only look for the cats underneath the car, i.e. the secondaries so they wouldn't notice. The first e90s won't have to be aircared until 2013 so we will find out soon enough. Someone should try. If I put them on I will just go through to find out.

its really a hit and miss with air care, newer cars (obd2) only requires reading off the obd and ur free to go, as for the visual, dyno and sniffer test, its only required for obd1 and before cars OR if ur obd2 car is throwing errors
so if u remove all ur cats and doesnt throw any error codes, ur good for aircare
