Free Help Installing E90 CSL Trunk - GVA

Hi All,

I just installed my trunk. It is a really simple procedure. The only tricky part is removing the key cylinder from the stock trunk. Other than that it can be done within 45 mins or so.

Other adjustments are for mounting the lid(strut bar attachments @ lid and body of car), minor filing(where necessary) and possibly adjusting the striker for the latch. Mine opens, closes and fits as close to factory as I think an aftermarket piece will.

If anyone is doing the install in the GVA let me know and I would be glad to help.

Pics

Here are pics of either side. At first I had two problems with alignment.

1. Trunk was too sunken in on the left side and right side. You could feel and see so from the side.

2. Trunk wouldn't close without a hard slam.

I moved the strut brackets attached to the body towards the rear of the car. The right side mates up perfectly now and the left could probably be angled up just a touch. I also adjusted the striker and voila. For a newb, I can say that I am pleased.
