can I run 235-35-19 on the 4 corners with a staggerd wheel

I want to use me OEM 230 style rim for winter.
However I cannot find proper winter tire sizes for them.

So can I run a square tire size on a staggered rim?
ex. 235-35-19

I currently have 17" winter rims and tires.
Will I loose much stability/traction with the new 19" set up?

Thanks

it's fine.

I have 230s with 225/35/19

A little stretched on the rear, but it's fine....your 235s would prob be even better!!

Stability and traction is prob the same. The problem would be ride comfort, with the shorter side wall, everything will seem more bumpy!

I store my 19" when the weather starts getting cold, run 17" 225 square, they completly absorb bumps.

19" in the winter: Bent rims due to potholes, loss of traction due to wide tires having to plow through snow and narrow profile has a firmer ride.

Funny stuff, I saw a top gear episode where an old ww2 army jeep with very thin winter tires carved right past a brand new range rover 4x4 with it's traction control set to offroad.

/\ agreed the thinner the tire and the fatter the profile is much better for winter even if the car looks crappy for a while

I agree 100% that 19s aren't ideal for winter....but for ppl like me who never have to drive on snow packed roads or pothole infested roads, it's perfectly fine.....plus I have a GTI for winter usage.
