Hi Peter,
Have you decided yet? I always imagine you pitching up to the dockside in a modern day V8 Rover SD1. How about this version? Alright, the V8 has lost 2 cylinders, but it is also has only 219g/CO2 for 333ps. This one is near Devonport...... http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/used...cmdc=se_ce_re_

Well Aston yes, but I was thinking an SD1 Vitesse was pretty cool back in the days when HMS Tireless was brand new . 25 years on fastbacks are kind of back in fashion.

When I joined my first boat back in 1987, Trafalgar not Tireless (!), my friend had an SD1 2600, lovely barge it was. The Vitesse was something very special back then. Closest I got was a Rover 820e Fastback in the very early 90's! |

TT and A5 are very different cars Peter, as you are no doubt aware. I found the A5 to be more refined and a more relaxed drive. I didn't have the urge to press the loud pedal as much as I do in the TTS. I do like the look of the facelifted A5 and it's a lovely place to sit.
My mates did the whole hairdresser/gay car/ ladies car bollox and I say bollox to them! I'd much rather be sitting in my TTS than many of the bland mobiles that populate our roads and they soon changed their tune when I took some of them out for a drive. My daughter is a hairdresser. No way she could afford a TT. A mate is also a hairdresser. 6'5", tattoos, smokes, drinks, built like bastard and 4 kids. It's a ridiculous phrase! TT MK2 is a proper, fun to drive coupe. A5 is a more 'grown up' alternative. Both are good. You have a nice choice to make, so enjoy it!

My choice would be the A5, even more so if its the face lift version. I have driven the 170bhp diesel version and it felt quick enough to me, it wasn't going to set the world on fire interms of speed but I didn't really expect it to.

I wouldn't bother changing cars Pete, complete waste of money; sounds much more sensible to spend money on your house or something
