Sub sounds quite crappy!

Hi guys,
recently done an audio upgrade, new door speakers, tweeters etc, running on aftermarket (Alpine) Headunit. However my sub sounds crap, everything just rumbles and vibrates in the boot, especially my bootlid inside the car! Cant help but think my boot needs sound deadening done? But will it actually work!

When I installed my corner sub, a JL Audio 10" 10w6v2 and a JL 600/1 amp.
The sound was very clean.

Except for the rear third brake light cover that vibrated,
the rubber touching the rear glass was flapping around.

I put some foam in there and it stopped most of the rattling and vibration sound.
