2011 07/2011 build date
40800mi
Avg. MPG 24.5
90/10 city/Hwy
CBU: Dealer saw it on main relay when serviced for SES

Hoping to do Meth/Water injection and EGR block soon so hopefully help with that a bit and picked up Diesel Kleen for my fill ups. Using Chevron since I'm in Florida.

Yes to carbon and emissions problems too
Where do you go in the Bay Area that you pay $3k for CBU cleaning? I just had mine done about two weeks ago in Fremont and it wasn't even $1k... that price is insanity unless you take it to the dealer instead of a good indy shop...

Anyway, my info:

2011 335d
60k miles
~30 mpg
20-100 miles per day (varies)
Texaco diesel mainly, sometimes Chevron or Arco (rarely)
3 on driving scale
60/40 highway/city

Yep. Had CBU cleaned. SES light came on around ~59k miles. It idled roughly and when I would accelerate initially. The CBU was pretty bad, car runs fantastic now. This was the only major issue i've had so far since ownership..bought when it had 28k miles.

With all this talk about the Carbon build up issue, I thought it might useful to gather some data. Whether or not you have experienced this issue or not please contribute. I think these are some of the key factors which are relevant to this issue.

Please state:

Model year
2011 335D

51,000 miles
33 avg mpg (Please use the figure found in your BMW)
Avg speed

Brand of fuel (cetane rating if known) - Chevron or Shell mostly. Sometimes off brand if necessary.

On a scale of 1 to 5 how hard do you drive? (1 meaning: I baby my car, 5 meaning: I drive like I am being chased by Cops.) - 3

Highway/City Mix - 60/40

Carbon build up issue yes or no? - YES, at 51,000 miles

Additional Info:
CBU symtoms - rough idle. slight hesitation at acceleration
Codes P02CE and P02CC for injectors 1 and 2 "offset learning at min limit"

BMW dealer quoted me $3300 for the repair. Independent shop quoted me half of that. Hopefully it'll get resolved. Planning on blocking the EGR valve after the fix, and using Optilube SPD.
