I have purposefully not gone out and got one.
For the simple reason: Bike licence = Excuse to buy a bike = Simon buys bike = Simon kills self So, it's a matter of self preservation.

still a NO has been on my to do list for last 4 years ever since got my hands on a Victory Hammer S over in US when on holiday. Ideal bike for me

Yes, I got a Vietnamese bike licence in 2007 when I was living there. That episode of Top Gear in Vietnam when they got a VN licence, I did that same practical test. I didn't have to do the theory test as I already had a UK car licence which transferred over to VN.
For some reason though the Vietnam licence wasn't recognised by the UK!(although I could use it to ride as a visitor, it's not transferrable as a UK resident). So U did the UK CBT in 2009 and full licence in 2010. I now ride a Honda Pan European and I'm doing the RoSPA advanced course now. Oh... I still have my VN car and bike licence. Sometimes when I go overseas I use the Vietnam licence to rent a car. I rented off Avis in Australia using the Vietnam licence, no problems |
