No.

I made a deal with the devil (my mum) that I wouldn't get one when I turned legal age. Her end of the deal was that I could get a bike there and then (I think I was about 10 or 11 at the time). Riding off road so young I've got way too many bad/dangerous habits to ever pass a test now.

OK....Next question.

Do you think having a bike licence makes you a better car driver?

Without a doubt...yes. There are a few things I do in a car that I wouldn't had I not been on a bike. The main one being visibility and realising how little I can see sometimes. How many non-bikers move their head to see around the A-pillar? I never used to until I realised how much it restricted my view.

Yes i honestly do. I personally think riding a bike you have to develop situational awareness very well or you'll not last. This carries over to your car driving. Maybe not in all cases but I'd say in general, yes.

Back in the days when everything was in black and white, and I was just starting out on the road, my father refused to let me have a car until I'd had a bike on the road - to fall off it and learn the real meaning of speed. The old bugger was right too.

So I do believe that bikers generally make better, more aware, car drivers. We need to be to stay alive on todays roads.

This thinking suggests that cyclists will make even better drivers as they are even more vulnerable than motorbikelists.

Yes, had a full bike licence since 1989.

No, cyclists don't count as they're not running at road speed like bikes do, it's about how you build a 3-D model in your mind of the traffic around you when on a (motor)bike that you never do in a car.

Now with wife and child, my death will effect others too much

Thus I don't ride any more.

Having a bike licence absolutely makes you a much better car driver. Forces you to be far more aware of your surroundings.

It was a joke.

It does depend how fit you are though. On days with favourable weather (ie no wind) I will easily average mid 20s on flat sections easily keeping up with and in some cases overtaking traffic such as buses.

Do you think it should be compulsary to do the CBT before sitting your car driving test?

I'm having a debate with someone and so far you have all backed up my side of the debate.

No I don't. People have a choice to ride or not and I don't think that should be forced on them. And let's be honest, a 4 hr cbt on a moped will develop bugged all skill. Skill comes from experience.

I knew it was a joke, ahem

Self preservation is the name of the game on motorbike or push bike, miss that and you won't last long!

20mph is more than most cars on a city run anyway!

I'd like to add that Harley riders are the exception to the rule. They too busy worrying about their chrome getting dirty etc to pull their heads out of their own arses and notice what's around them.
