If these come in under $33k I'll be seriously looking into trading. Thats a serious torque improvement over my N52.
Not in a 3-series is my guess. This little 4 banger will base no less than $39k. Current base for x-drive 320i is $34k and $38.8k for 328i. Factor in similar TQ to 328 and the annual price increases.

Also factor in the pricier diesel engine.

Would this be cool or what? But we'll never see it in the USA likely. Or am I being pessimistic? How would you like to drop that engine in a 3-series.

Yup, sad.

That M-tuned 50d motor is a beast! 354 ft-lbs at 1000rpm!

Looks like less power for North America:

A 535d model will be the first U.S. model to make use of a new twin-turbo diesel I-6, expected to produce around 255 hp and 413 lb-ft., when it enters production this summer

I want the 3-series Touring with the M550d engine since we're daydreaming.

Wot? No F11 535d?

The best reason to go with a 5 over a 3 is if you need bigger interior, and the F11 would be bigger (internal ******* than a F10. But of course the Germans think 'mericans all drive SUVs.
