I had a bubble in each of my front tires and decided to replace them all w/General Exclaims. Cost = $515 for all 4, shipped through TireRack. Dealer quoted me $395 installed for 1 RFT.

for stock rfts, dont go to the dealer, get them from tire rack and have them shipped to a local tire rack dealer and installed there. should run about $1000 installed. but yes you should get another brand unless u wanna stay with RFTs

Stock RFT setup from Costco Tires is $1060-1120 total for all 4. There is a costco tire coupon every couple of months for 60 dollars off so coscto has a better deal than Tirerack.

So can I go to any tire place to have the tires changed, or do I specifically have to go to a BMW dealer?
If I don't have my tires replaced with RFT's what do you think I should replace them with?

Some places don't do RFTs (they are a major pain in the ass to mount/dismount) so just make sure where ever you are bringing them has done them before.

If you are goin non-RFT...... just get the same tires, but non-rft (Bridgestone Potenza RE050A

OEM tires and rims are hella expensive and not really worth it imo.
