to me it doesnt feel faster.. it feels about the same as before. Maybe thats due to the smooth power delivery?
I have a gtech.. i regret not doing a 0-60 run BEFORE the PPK.. now I have no way of comparing before and after :/

@thetrance: What do you mean with you having a gtech?

Did you get the certificate and/or the Performance Kit badges?

Have you done any runs with the Gtech. What were your times? I too have the PPK1. Curious what numbers guys are getting on 0-60 runs or 1/8 or 1/4 times.

Well, just because they were coding the ECU doesn't mean they actually installed anything--My ECU was completely coded before they figured they ordered the wrong code by mistaking the VIN, so I had to leave the car for a few days for the new code to come and be installed. Regardless of what not, you should feel the performance increase. 20 horses and 32 torques is a lot. However, that's also subjective, I guess. I personally feel it faster everywhere. I drive the some roads every day and see how the car powers with greater ease on the same old turns.

I, unfortuntely, never drove the car inbetween, but there would be no gains if I had. That's why I'm wondering about yours. I have the heavier xDrive, like you, and I still noticed the gains right away. The program must match your VIN 100% or it will not work. Did your exhaust note come louder when accelerating or did it stay the same?

That would mean they indeed install it. Maybe it's just that subjective to different people, the power gains. Beats me, lol.

I am nearly certain it toys with the valves or something in the exhaust- it sounds deeper
and has more burble pop to it...I don't THINK I'm imagining it...I stress the word THINK.

Have you had it on the track? Stock my xDrive was running a 13.7 in the 1/4@ 101 MPH. 2K elevation and a 1/2 tank of gas.

Yes, it sure does! I never thought the exhaust had that kind of potential, lol. I believe it also disconnects that one valve which you play with during the "golf tee mod." Before this, my right-side exhuast tip would always be more dirty than the other (valve working), but now they're both equal. This, I'm sure, is also one of the reasons it gets louder. They basically give you the same result of a golf tee, along with whatever else they change that makes it sound so much nicer.

I imagine it wouldn't be all that much faster--but maybe around 13.5-13.4? I also got rid of those heavy run-flats, so I'm sure that helps, too. But unfortunately, I don't track.

My 135 is in the shop currently, and my dealer put me in a 2011 335 Sedan with sport package, paddles, Nav, and PPK Stg.1, I have to say, I'm really enjoying this car. It has 2300 miles on it and while not as fast as my 135, it is still a alot of fun to drive, with plenty of pep and is so smooth. I may just let them keep my N54 135. LOL

Had it done last week.
They told me the update failed 4 times on them at the last moment, so they ended having Germany babysit the car through the process!?!
Made me question the service dept.
Also had a noticeable alignment issue with wheel sticking to the right, instead after they fixed it, it is now slightly to the left!
Kind of lousy for a 3 week old car to have crooked steering wheel they can't fix. Is this normal?

As far as the ppk tune, I got a signed and dated badge under the hood with a white warning sticker, the metal performance badge, and in the red envelope was only the other languages for the white software warning sticker.

Exhaust became a different animal as soon as I touched the gas, it sounds heavenly and when the engine is nice and hot has this amazing burble when you let off the throttle. Deep and throaty and super sporty sounding!
As far as the performance the most noticeable aspect is the response of the throttle and engine. Power has increased but the torque pull is where I really feel it. Big difference in low end and midrange punch. Like my sa said, it just wakes the car up.

Do you really think any engine need big upgrade to handle a 10 HP increase?

For a tuner, no big thing at all!

For BMW with warrenty, yes it is a big thing!

My question is why BMW combined the software with these kind of hardware updates...? Why not an oil cooler in the first place?! And why drop the hardware and give the software as it is with no further changes when, before, you had to install the stronger fan and water cooler...
